Two things I love doing--road trip and leaf peeping--accomplished with a fall drive every year.
Here's Yosemite in the fall.

(I Wanna Be a)ROCK STAR (Nickelback)
I'm through with standing in line
To clubs I'll never get in
It's like the bottom of the ninth
And I'm never gonna win
This life hasn't turned out quite the way I want it to be
I want a brand new house on an episode of cribs
And a bathroom I can play baseball in
And a king size tub big enough for 10
plus me
I'll need a credit card that's got no limit
And a big black jet with a bedroom in it
Gonna join the mile high club at 37 thousand feet
I want a new tour bus full of old guitars
My own star on hollywood boulevard
Somewhere between Cher and James Dean is fine for me
I'm gonna trade this life of fortune and fame
I'd even cut my hair and change my name
Cuz we all just wanna be big rockstars
Live in hilltop houses drivin 15 cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We'll all stay skinny cuz we just wont eat
And we'll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good dold digger's gonna wind up there
Every playboy bunny with her bleach blonde hair
And we'll
Hey hey I want to be a rockstar
Hey hey I want to be a rockstar
I want to be great like Elviss without the tassels
Hire 8 body guards that love to beat up assholes
Sign a couple of autographs so I can eat my meals for free
I'm gonna dress my ass with the latest fashion
Get a front door key to the playboy mansion
Gonna date a centerfold that loves to blow my money for me
I'm gonna trade this life of fortune and fame
I'd even cut my hair and change my name
Cuz we all just wanna be big rockstars
Live in hilltop houses drivin 15 cars
Girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We'll all stay skinny cuz we just wont eat
And we'll hang out at the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good dold digger's gonna wind up there
Every playboy bunny with her bleach blonde hair
And we'll hide out in the private rooms
With the latest dictionary and today's who's who
They?ll get you anything with that evil smile
Everybody?s got a drug dealer on speed dial
Well, hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
I'm gonna sing those songs
that offend the censors
Gonna pop my pills
from a pez dispenser
Get washed-up singers writing all my songs
Lip sync em every night so I don't get 'em wrong
Well we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hillltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We?ll all stay skinny ?cause we just won?t eat
And we'll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good gold digger's gonna wind up there
Every playboy bunny with her bleach blond hair
And we'll hide out in the private rooms
With the latest dictionary and today's who's who
They'll get you anything with that evil smile
Everybody?s got a drug dealer on speed dial
Well, hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar

Photo Hunt #9: View
This is the view that one would keep coming back to see over and over again. Luckily, I have seen it once. Unfortunately, I have yet to make my return visit. Soon, I hope.
I may have posted this once, I cannot remember.
Here's an aerial view of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River.

Sky Watch #13
Cranes stood as mute witnesses to this beautiful SoCal sunset at the port of Long Beach.
This is the view from the deck of a departing cruise ship.

All Quiet Here
Yes, I found a spot to take pictures without all the tourists that packed the place. I can't remember why this happened. I must have gotten lucky.
Someday, when I return here I would be staying in one of them accommodations in the village just like this one.
I close this short series. I have uploaded a few more at flik'r.

Walking Around the Village
While this is a popular winter destination, my early summer visit saw a hectic village full of activities and people engaging in xtreme sports like BMX biking. It was full of tourists too.

Blue Skies @ Whistler
I am not planning on putting out another series, but I was just browsing through my archives and found I have a few shots from Whistler, BC that have yet been featured here. So, I am going to run a short series on Whistler, mostly on the architecture/buildings. And here's the first image.

Photo Hunt #8: Road
In three days, autumn is officially here. I try to go for a drive during these time. I am an avid leaf peeper. And this was my leaf peeping activity last year.
Taken in Plumas County, October 2007,
This is my entry for this week's road theme. I love quiet scenic country roads like this.

Sky Watch #12
When I got my first digital camera, the first things I photographed were the blue skies. I was so fascinated with the cloudscapes and skyscapes that I kept clicking each time I was outdoors with my camera in hand.
So you can imagine how many images I have that would qualify for skywatch entry. That's why most of my skywatch entries are from my archives. Here's another one.
Taken in Skagway Alaska, June 2007. That's the dome of the Golden North Hotel. I previously posted the hotel here.
I particularly find cloud-covered mountain tops fascinating and mystical. I hope you enjoy skywatching as much as I do.

Vancouver Harbor
I know, I know! Another water shot. This time I have found one with a color other than blue. What a busy port this is.

Blue State (of Mind)
I can't help myself posting another water-related image. Ironic, since I can't swim.

Bluer Than Blue
Shot from Capitola Wharf, from the same place as the 9/11/08 and 9/14/08 posts.
This week is the last full week of summer. While I would love very much to keep going with this series, I thought it's high time I end this for now.
I will start posting random shots in the coming days.

Photo Hunt #7: Wild
This is my entry for this week's photo hunt theme. The waves are starting to go wild, I thought.
Happy Weekend everyone. Enjoy the remaining days of summer. Go out and enjoy the beach.

Sky Watch #12
Summer fun about to cut short as fog starts to roll in from the background. The blue skies has turned grayish and pretty soon it would be too cold to dip one's toes in the water.
Life has gotten too busy that I have completely forgot that today is the anniversary of that vicious attack on American soil. I join the world in pausing for a brief moment to say a prayer to those who lost their lives and for those they left behind.

SFPD Drops In
In all my years here, I have never seen with my own eyes SFPD on water patrol. Glad I was there when they showed up. And lucky me I was out shooting too.
I think he just wanted to say hi to these guys. I'm sure they're not floating under the influence [wink* wink*]

Cotton Candy
One of the good eats that one can be had at the ball park is of course cotton candy. I have not had it in ages, until I had a taste of it this year in January. Well, I guess I have outgrown its taste.
What's cool is it now comes in different colors. When I was growing up they only came in pink.

Photo Hunt #6: Strings
Shoe string potatoes or more commonly called French fries. However, these are not just french fries. These are the Gilroy Garlic Fries, one of the popular eats at AT & T park.
This photo is in keeping with my summer series. The dog days of summer bring to the park hungry stomachs for these greasy garlicky delight.

Sky Watch #11
Here's the summer skies spanning 20 miles.
Can't believe it's time for sky watch again. Time surely flies by so quickly when you're skywatching.
Thanks to the fellowship of skywatchers for visiting my picture.

Summer Days Are Numbered
The nights are getting longer, the freeways are getting jammed, and the school's have opened, we enjoyed our last three-day weekend before the Holidays hit. Yes, summer days are numbered. How I wish I was in the beach more.
Are you gonna miss the summer days?

First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church - built in 1867, it is one of the few buildings built before the Great Fire that still stands today.
This historic church building at 196 South C Street was dedicated on Sunday, 30 December 1866. A detailed description of the dedication ceremony was published in the Territorial Enterprise the following Tuesday, 1 January 1867.
The sanctuary is listed #301 on the American Presbyterian and Reformed Historic Sites and is one of only a few public buildings that survived the great fire of October 1875, when over 80% of Virginia City burned to the ground.
