There are times when you find a sky watch entry while doing mundane tasks, like going to the store or something. My entry for today is what I saw as I was leaving a local Barnes and Noble. So hurried to my car and pulled out the camera from the glove compartment (it's a compact point and shoot) and snapped this before driving away.
SKYWATCH page is here go visit.
Amateur photog's online photo cache. All photos are original pics taken by author and her husband. This is not a place to see those awe inspiring Ansel Adams, these are ordinary subjects shot on a whim most of the time.

Very dramatic, sentimental shot.

Don't you love it when you go outside at just the right time? I'm sure the wonderful color on those clouds was much different not a couple of minutes before and after. Maybe even gone entirely.
So glad you had a camera handy... in the glove box, love it! Wonderful capture... on a quick glace, it looks like the tree is on fire. Wonderful lighting on those clouds. Awesome silhouette shot!
Darn, I'm not first. lol
Great skywatch picture. Long Sikh (sick :-) ) parade. They have very colourful clothing.
I love the colors of the clouds and the almost bare limbs against the sky.
Always carry a camera (those subject don't last).
This one is amazing! Striking contrast.
Excellent shot, love the colors in the sky.
Have a great weekend!

I would never have guessed there was anything mundane anywhere near this lovely shot!
Stark and dramatic shot! Absolutely beautiful!
Good post, I find myself looking up much more now that I do skywatch Friday also.
Always have a camera you just never know when a beauty like this will pop up.
Great post! Nice photo.. happy skywatch :o)
I must admit I find that kind of shot very exciting to take, the ones that come upon you suddenly.
Love the colour.
It is amazing how those last few leave hang on even after all that has been thrown at them.
Lovely cloud and a reminder that spring is almost here.
Wow wow wow thats really great! Perfect!!!
Dramatic is the correct term...
Wow, this is excellent, it's always handy to have our cameras all the time with us. Thanks for visitng.
Thanks for being so aware of your surroundings - this is a perfect shot, no matter what camera you used. Love the contrast in color and texture.
Wow - awesome photo! I like everything about it.
Very cool!
Beautiful colours and composition. I hope you bought some great book or CD, and this photo was a bonus.
Have a nice weekend!
The tree in front of the pink cloud is a very lucky coincidence. It's stunning.
How lovely! I like the silhouettes against the sky...
Glad you were so observant and had your camera handy. Beautiful shot.
I was at B&N today also. Love those clouds. Kinda reminds me of a Poe story. =) Hope you have a great friday
You couldn't do that with a film camera! What beautiful coloration. Happy SWF!
Nice catch!
The light and color are fabulous in the clouds, and the tree silhouette makes this photo stand out.
Great shot - just love the cloud formations and colour against the tree.
Very attractive sky!
The clouds are like tufts of cotton!
I would have run to my camera for this one too. I love it. :-) Just don't do what I've done. I've backed out, seen something and stopped in the middle of the lane to get a shot. :-D
This is really nice...the smokey clouds and silhouette of branches. Great job!
Oh, how pretty! It reminds me of a japanese print -- very graphic yet soft... Glad you had your camera. have a great weekend. :)
what a nice perspective, very pretty!!!
No procrastination on your part. See the shot. Grab the camera out of the glove compartment. Point and click. This image is very dramatic, simple and pink cloud adds that punch. Nice job!

Beautiful shot of the sky with the tree braches against it :)
This is wonderful! Superb sky you had, how lucky to have your camera by you.
Lovely photo for SWF. I always have my camera with me whereever I go. :) Have a nice weekend.
Hi, was looking for your followers but couldn't find it. Anyway, am adding you to my list so I could check what you've posted. Mabuhay!
A fire in the sky with blackened paper raining on the trees...
Great capture.
And a lovely capture it is! Love the small, red-rimmed dark clouds. Happy Sky Watching!
What a lovely shot. You got the cloud burning, and the branches wagging. Great composition.
Its beautiful !
Cool cloud. When I first saw it, I thought it was colored cotton stuck on the tree!
Great composition !
Gorgeous! Stunning! Good you looked up as you were walking out of the store and great plan to always have a camera handy.
Thank you for visiting my SkyWatch.
The combination of the stark branch and its few remaining leaves works beautifully against the sun touched clouds. A beautiful shot.
I love impromptu shots like this, they are often the best we take! Very nice.
Excellent shot!
Great shot! The orange streak gives a glimmer of hope to the stark branch.
Have a great weekend :)
Inside Cambodia
It's a great capture.
wow beautiful shot! nice silhouette, nice sky!
we should never really leave home without a camera. i'm pretty sure it just lasted for a couple of seconds. lovely colours and silhouette! :D
Very well done, I love trees against sky ! Bravo !
This is exactly the reason I have a point-and-shoot backup camera on my to-get list. It's not practical for me to schlep my DSLR everywhere I go, and I miss so many shots just like this one because of that very fact.
Neat shot! Grackles against the sky... this could almost be for Halloween! :-)
I did SkyWatch as well...:-)
Great shot. I love the very limited colours and clean 'sparseness' of it. (Not sure if that's a word, but you know what I mean!)
Janice.
