Thanks for visiting mine and to answer your question - The flowers in the foreground of my shot were poppies and I think a few others mixed in. We didn't stop there but almost the whole way to Wilmington from Raleigh the highway has roadside flowers which started 20 to 30 years ago with a highway beautification campaign. The parts where all the flowers grow are state maintained although it looks like they go with the farms and houses in certain spots.
I saw his wonderful exhibit at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix AZ this past winter!! Very immpressive..he's a genius with blown glass art! I love staying at the Bellagio in Vegas!

Oh, by the way. I was maybe 30-35 feet from the heron when I took that. Not close enough to make it fly off.
