Sky Watch #42

IMG_0865, originally uploaded by M'roy.

I love the stone buildings that house the gift shop/visitor center. I know it's more of a gift shop, but the storekeepers are so knowledgeable that it's like asking someone from the visitor center.

The sky has turned cloudy here. One of last few shots I took before heading back to Vegas.

Want more sky? See more sky here.

Is that a giftshop? Looks like it is going to fall over the edge any minute!

Great composition - and love the stonehouse! It looks perfect against the cloudy sky - and that awesome color on the mountains!

Even a cloudy sky cannot diminish the vista. So open and just feels so unpolluted.

What a memorable shot! And that building must have been quite an undertaking. Love the way the opposoite wall of the canyon looks hazy just from the sheer distance of it, I imagine. Amazing!

koala said...

Is the building partly ruin or looks like this on purpose?

Pacey said...

Ha! I love the structure. So artistically and uniquely built. I'd would so love to be there. I always try to visit gift/souvenir shops when I'm in new places. Great view too. And yeah, you really captured the moment.

Fantastic shot. I love the way the stone building looks. I'd like a house made out of stone and it would be heaven to have that view.

Wow, what a great shot! I love the way you composed this...the angry sky is great, the bldg is great...but that slice of grand canyon is still magnificent...

Actually, I find this brick house quite charming. So uniquely built to compliment the sky. :)

Amazing! I love that stone house just by the cliff. I can imagine waking up on a stunning view like those.

I thought I'd be able to see those places earlier but I have to delay my US visit this year.

The light makes it beautiful. I love the combination of the old building and the darkening sky.

A few weeks ago I saw the "Grand Canyon Skywalk" at National Geographic Channel. Did you visit that too?

Enjoy your weekend!

A wonderfully peculiar building. Either it has started to break down or it has never been finished. That's how it looks like. I'm sure it is a very deliberate effect to have built it like that as to make it look old.
I quite like the idea and your photo is excellent.

The building almost looks unfinished, and is so much more interesting because of it.
