Sky Watch #44
Night and day skywatching from my hotel window.
Time for Skywatch again. Visit the main page and join us in skywatching.
Oh I love comparison shots...I think the night one is my fave....love the lights...but I also like the day shot...so much depth....love the mountains...
Awesome captures! The night shot is gorgeous. I love taking shots from a higher vantage point than just ground level - gives a whole different perspective. Thanks for reminding me of SkyWatch - I had forgotten, but I got my post up now!!!
i see from your earlier posts that you're at circus circus, right? i'm like you, not a vegas kind of gal. but there are things i have found that i love there. old school vegas is one of them. nice fun shots and i enjoy your repartee as well! thanks for visiting life illustrated.
I like them both...Reminds me of when you travel to a new place and arrive at night in the dark. Then you look out the window, go to bed, and then wake up to daylight and check out the new view...totally different!
Nice shots - the night time one is my favourite, I like how the city is bright, but you can still see to the edge of the darkness. Is this las Vegas? I've never been, but know it's in a desert..

What an amazing view. You must have been way on up there, eh?
I love the contrast between the night and day shots. They are both great!

Amazing views, night and day are a good comparission, thanks for sharing with us all in sky watch friday.
Excellent contrast! Is this Vegas? How do you know that one day shots like this may not be the Ansel Adams of the 21st century? :)
What a difference a day makes! Stunning views!
I tend to prefer the night view. It's really beautiful!
Looks much better at night.
Oh I love comparison shots...I think the night one is my fave....love the lights...but I also like the day shot...so much depth....love the mountains...
Nice shots! Both day and night shots are great! But the architecture is stunning :)
Great posting for two contrasting time of day. Dark sky in the night and clear blue sky in broad daylight.
These are fun, thanks :)
You must have been up pretty high to capture such wonderful day and night shots... they are fantastic!
I'm watching the tail end of Ocean's Eleven, they just finished robbing The Bellagio. Vegas must be a fascinating place. Nice SWF shots!
I am just waiting for Nick Stokes & Cathrine to arrive at your photo;)
Beautiful cityscapes. I like the night view especially.
Awesome captures! The night shot is gorgeous. I love taking shots from a higher vantage point than just ground level - gives a whole different perspective.
Thanks for reminding me of SkyWatch - I had forgotten, but I got my post up now!!!
No contest for me - night wins! But on the other hand, day has a real sweeping vista and skyview, so, okay, it's a tie!
Fantastic -- love the drama of the night, but the openness of the day! Terrific shots! Have a great weekend!
I like both photos, but I prefer the night shot. The lights are beautiful.
Excellent contrast in photos, the night one is definately my favourite.
Have a great weekend.

Great shots, love the night one.
It really is a very photogenic city.
The stratosphere is so impressive!
Wait. Is this still Vegas, Maria? Dumb question, probably. I can tell it more from the night shot than the day shot!
I like the contrasting shots.
Sydney - City and Suburbs
Nice to see a day and night picture of the same place...
I would mind a bit of that desert heat. Nice photo shots and blog good to see the AirNZ ad!
I love the night shot. Shows how big and beautiful the city is with night lights on.

You have a good vantage view of your night and day shots. Beautiful!

I like the night shot. It is really pretty. The day photo give us a better prospective of the area.

Is this Vegas? Great shots and not a bad view at all! :-)
Night and day, yu are the one...
beautiful contrast between the dynamics in both shots.
coool!

As much as the sky, I'm struck by the swimming pool in the foreground - sandwiched between a road and an RV park. Suppose it's got to go somewhere!
the place seems to still have enough space for more structures.
These are very grand. Lovely.
It's beautiful at day time and striking at night.
