Pounding the Pavement

The best way to get to know the city is to walk its streets. Doing so will get you shoulder to shoulder with it's colorful residents and it's enthusiastic visitors.

You will be up close with its beautiful architecture. I love arches.

You get to window shop and people watch.

And most especially for me I got to walk it's narrow streets. I love them.

  3. Your right, foot is the best way to see a city and you don't have to worry about dead ends and one way streets. Of course, you do have to worry about getting yourself in to unsafe areas.

  7. Very beautiful views, Maria. The arches remind me of our arcades here in Turin (about 13 km in the whole town!). I also like the narrow streets: there are so many perspectives to enjoy!

  11. i agree, that's the best way to get to know a city... i've found that recently too...
it's in those silent and noisy walks you go through that you get to enjoy its surroundings.

ps: like the depth of the 2nd foto, an arch within an arch. ^0^

  18. I agree! If only we had pavements to walk on in this city instead of being greeted by sidewalk vendors who peddle their wares. Tsk tsk :D
