The vivid blue National Hotel is one of the oldest continuously operating hotels west of the Rocky Mountains.

Nevada City Firehouse 2 is a neo-classical revival style building that was built in 1860 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 3, 1974.

This is my entry for this week's WINDOW VIEWS AND DOORS TOO (#60).

This is a perfect place to spend the day just walking around and taking photos.
What a charming place...I love the little blue building on the slope! My camera and I could have a wonderful day there, indeed...I suspect there are many places to stop for tea and watch the world go by...:)

I bet this place is full of gawking tourists all the time, which could be annoying for the people lucky enough to live there.
What a nice place! It looks so picturesque and green, the streets and the houses are very pleasant.
Very praiseworthy to maintain buildings to the standard in your pics. Nice pictures all round.

i love everything about this place esp. the architecture.
It's not crowded, but just slow-paced, run of the mill usual thing. what a good place to unwind.

It is a charming place, isn't it! You've done a beautiful job capturing its charm and all those wonderful old windows and doors. Thanks for stopping by at my "rundown" post!
You really do get the Old West flavor here, Maria. I love it!
I just whiz through these places on my way to somewhere, now I know better. Thank you for letting me know I'm missing things I never even thought about.

What a charming, quaint town. And that old hotel looks quite interesting. I wonder how maintained it is. I enjoy old historical towns such as this.
Love the firehouse! Everything looks cozy and makes the town appear so peaceful...
