Hearst Castle - A Photographic Tour Part 3

I must confess something. The fact that I am posting this trip nearly 6 months after the fact has proven to be an arduous task. I simply have a tough time recalling the names of the rooms we have seen and the other details that the guide had shared with us.

Hence, I'd let the photos just speak. I'll give you as much information as my feeble brain had retained and of course there's always google to the rescue as well.

Marion Davies' bedroom. Marion was the companion and the hostess at the ranch. She was also a movie star - haven't seen old movies so I wouldn't recognize her.

  1. I think the word sumptuous just about describes Hearst castle. Or maybe, opulent? Hmmm...definitely along those lines...as in, how the other half live. :)

  4. Now you know why I have spent the last month and a half working so fervously on my Norway images, Maria! If you don't get at them right away, you 'lose' them! Anyway, you've still done a great job and they DO speak for themselves. They're reminding me of the Biltmore House in NC, as I have already mentioned previously.

What I do: always get an xtra folder of a place or I take xtra pictures of sign boards and such that explain stuff. You must see what my Greece collection of pictures looks like :-)

  10. Wow such luxurious dwellings. I wonder how many household staff were hired to maintain such a huge place. It's good that everything is still in pristine condition! Kudos to them.
