Sunset in my Front Yard

Coming home one balmy summer night from a day at the beach, we witnessed this stunning display of orange painted in the sky. Shall we go in and start dinner or stay here and watch. We lingered for a bit, long enough to drink it all in and snap a few pictures, then we went in and fix dinner. What a lovely way to end a beautiful summer day.

Sequentially, these are my straight out of the camera shots:

  18. These photos are absolutely heart-stopping! My camera would have had smoke pouring out of it, I'd have been snapping so many photos! I read about your day at the beach that preceded this incredible sunset ~ don't you just love a day like that? Full of the simplest pleasures like a wonderful new discovery, a hug from a stranger, and a breathtaking sunset. If only every day could be like that - but then, maybe we'd appreciate them less.

(Btw, if the woman on the beach who gave you the hug and blessing was mentally ill, then I wish that were an illness that was infectious and pandemic! :-) That was such a sweet story.)
