Looking Up and Down While Walking

On January first of this year a group of friends and us went to a little walk in one of my fave walking parks, Alvarado Park/Wildcat Canyon. These new friends - a family of four - just moved in the area and are into hiking/walking and outdoor activities so we thought we'd introduce them to this easily accessible park. They loved the park, especially since the husband told us it's 10 minutes from home.

It had been raining days before so there were mushrooms to be enjoyed.

We took them to our usual route, showing them where the prolific blackberry bush is located and where the cherry tree that bears a lot of fruit in early summer is situated. Then we hiked a bit more.

Climbing higher. Vistas of the bay are unbelievable here.

Old friends were introduced to new friends. Walking is more fun when the group is bigger.
