Lights of the Season
In late November while on an errand in the Sacramento area, we swung by Old Sacramento, a state historic park filled with old buildings housing restaurants and stores. Little did we know that there was a free show, the Theater of Lights show. As the name implies it's a show of colored lights on front of the buildings with special participation of Santa and Jack Frost. It was a cold rainy night, but the crowd was in full force. We took some shots of course.
The Fourth Street in Berkeley is a favorite Holiday destination of mine. We kept on planning to go before Christmas, but could only go after in time for the After-Christmas sale. Although to be real honest, it was the shooting we came more than the shopping. I know there's a lot of places around the Bay Area that's well decorated for the Holidays, but Fourth Street is very convenient being closer to home. There are two stores I really like to browse, if not shop there - Crate and Barrel Outlet and Sur La Table.
Last but not the least, on a cold night we drove to Oakland's Jack London Square to breathe a little crisp night air. Of course we came with our cameras.
These were all I could muster up with Holiday shooting. During these times photography takes the back seat. Now we're back to regular routine. I'm glad.
This is my post for this week's OUR WORLD TUESDAY.

ReplyDeleteAll three are excellent captures of their own unique system of lights. The first was a good bonus to happen upon. A fine series.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty how they light up the sides of the buildings!
ReplyDeleteI love Sacramento. I used to get to go there frequently representing our school district at meetings. Old Sacramento is always where I headed for dinner at least one night during my stay. - Margy
