Medano Beach - It's Where You Wanna Be
When we spent our anniversary trip in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in May of this year, we stayed in one of the resorts along Medano Beach. I didn't know how important it is to stay in Medano Beach until I got there. Apparently, there are few beaches in Cabo that are truly safe for swimming. And one of them is Medano Beach.
Playa Medano (Dune Beach) is party central. Bars, restaurants, hotels and resorts line the 2-mile beach. In addition, here you can also sign up for most activities - horseback riding, paddle boarding, parasailing, snorkeling, diving, etc. Different types of water vessels can be seen in the waters at any time - yacht, sailboats, catamarans, kayak, ski boards, etc.
And because the beach is public, many ambulant vendors ply their wares along the length of the beach. You can get hats, sunglasses, "silver" jewelries, kids toys, personalized bracelets, temporary tattoos, etc. My experience with the vendors was very good, since they don't hassle you. They stay a distance and either signal you to look at their merchandize or simply try to make eye contact with you and wait for your signal for them to approach.
We signed up for parasailing, my first, and despite what I told my husband, I really enjoyed the activity.
The beach is walking distance to the harbor and close to the downtown area. So one evening, we walked from our resort all the way to the harbor. Along the way, we were surprised to find many locals fishing in the waters and they have caught a lot of fish. I don't know what kind of fish they were, but they were aplenty.
And for five days, this was the view we enjoy while eating our meal. What a blessing and what a wonderful anniversary trip.

What a beautiful place - I'm not sure I'd go parasailing. And yes, you can go up the Arch; in fact I'll be posting that soon.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place. Those beaches are very much inviting.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful scenery!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful beach with lots to see and do. A perfect place for a celebration.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on parasailing … that takes more than a bit of courage. I like the photo of the man with the hats. The dozens of rims reminded me of an accordion.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking us along on this fabulous beach. The shots present the place very well.
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that the vendors are not intruding your privacy there unlike any other places that I've been to where vendors will practically shove whatever they're selling to your face. :p
ReplyDeleteFor a party central beach, it's very clean! Beautiful photos as always.
It sure is a great-looking beach!
ReplyDeleteJust wow, what a beautiful place.

Sorry girl, i put the comment about the fish in the previous post before this, that is a case of "éyeglasses fatigue", hehe. Those buildings are very near the beaches, don't they get typhoons there? And the fishes are also very near the shore, i wonder why, and they are big to my standard! amazing
