Ireland: Day 3 (Blarney Castle)
The castle itself is currently undergoing some improvements. One side of the castle was covered in scaffolding. When we reached the top we saw there were only a handful of people there and no line to kiss the stone. As usual I chickened out and got the husband to kiss the stone instead. In my defense, people who know me and my short stature asked if I could safely kiss the stone and with the rain and slippery conditions I begged off from kissing it. Besides, I have no need for eloquence, yeah right!
Once the kissing was done, we explored the rest of the castle. Sometimes when you visit a historic place, the "spirit" of the place seem to overtake you. It did not happen here. I don't know why there is no connection between me and this place. You know what I'm saying right?
The grounds are on the next post.
OUR WORLD TUESDAY
It is very beautiful, but I do know what you mean about the way some places 'speak' to you and others do not. When I 'connect' with a place for no particular reason it always me wonder if there actually is something true about 'past lives'.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos of a wonderful historical place and what fun you! and us too!
