Ireland: Day 6 (Dublin)
The hotel is really nice with ample parking in the back is provided for guests. The accommodations are really nicer than we expected - and the front desk clerk is friendly and accommodating. It is a large hotel and centrally located near the airport.
Once we got all our bags down, we went out to explore. We found Jervis Shopping Center and decided it's where we want to spend a couple of hours before turning in for the night. It is a huge mall and quite difficult to navigate at first. We saw a little cake shop sitting in the middle like a coffee cart type. We were in need of a little snack, so why not? A piece of cake and a cup of joe which we shared before continuing to see what else is there in this huge mall.
We walked around up and down the 5 or so levels, in and out of stores browsing and checking but no buying. Hunger was setting in, but we found the restaurants were in the process of closing. We were a bit sad that one of the eateries we chose to eat dinner at was actually completely closed up for the night when we returned. However, we found food halls, 2 of them, and so we got pre-packed food to go for dinner at the hotel. Just outside the mall is a pedestrian only street. We tried to see as much as we could but it was raining and very cold and thought it was time to go back to the hotel to be warm and get planning for the next day.
OUR WORLD TUESDAY
I like seeing shops in other parts of the world. I think many European cities have similar shopping areas, as does NA cities. The desserts look divine :-)
ReplyDeleteI was in Dublin in August 2016 - unforgettable. My favorite place ... in the world. I hope to come back ... once. Thank your for your Ireland tour.
ReplyDeleteDelicious cakes.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a cool place.
ReplyDeleteYummy snack break. Interesting about the problems with the GPS... getting lost is probably not the best way to explore new country!
ReplyDeleteYour post brings back fond memories of my trip to Ireland last Fall. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos ~ Dublin was fascinating to me when I visited ~ somehow missed the pastries ~ YUM, though ~
