McKay Mansion

McKay Mansion, originally uploaded by airam94564.

The Mckay Mansion was built in 1859 by George Hearst and the former residence of Comstock king John Mckay. It is now a National Historic Landmark. Tours are available, so are weddings and parties for up to 500 people.

Looks very well preserved. Must be nice to go on a guided tour in that place.

It doesn't look like 500 people could fit in that place...but it would be a nice location for a party.

What an imprssive mansion! Interesting how it seems to have vernadahs on 4 sides both upstairs and downstairs!

Oh, a new look. I love the white space...now that's the kind of house we all want to live in! Neat!

Perfect. As soon as I saw the pic, I knew that's where I want to get married. Finally! Now that I have the location, I can move forward and look for my groom LOL (the easy part, right?)

that's a snazzy building... you could do laps on those verandahs to keep in shape...

it surely was a mansion in those days and probably held many a soiree..
