A Mini Vacation
What would you do if you're bogged down by the stresses of daily routine and vacation is nowhere in sight? If you ask us, we go on a day trip for an instant mini vacation. There's a destination that we adore, a place where we instantly feel energized, where the sun and the sea embraced us and soothe our frayed nerves. Monterrey area, specifically the small town of Pacific Grove has become a favorite quick getaway for the husband and me, either for a day trip or an overnighter. On this late September day outing, we sat on the bench, ate a hearty sandwich from Compagno's, watched people and shorebirds, breathed in salty sea breeze and soaked up as much Vitamin D as we could.
And before we tackled the task of driving 2.5 hours back to reality, we stopped at Peter B's for some pub grub.
We both had a beer flight.
I had the fish and chips.
Fish tacos for him.
And we had two apps to share.
This is my kind of mini vacation. What is yours?

Almost every post I read of yours, Maria, we become more and more alike. HA I love it. Astrid and I can ALWAYS get away in just minutes, either by walking or by driving, to somewhere nearby where our souls are restored. The citadel walk, for instance, starts just a few yards right outside our back door. Thank God you have the sense to get yourselves refilled. Thank you and thank you because this is how you keep giving back.
ReplyDeleteLucky you that it's just a driving distance away from you. I've been to Monterrey, love the seaside town feel to it. :)

ReplyDeleteAt least you are blessed for always having the time to spare for these type of trips, while others there have all their time for work. Until now i still don't know what your works are, hehe! At any rate, i am sure these photos are beautiful as always, however i can only open the first and last i wonder why, maybe they are heavy for my memory. I closed and opened again 3X but still the same, don't know what happens with my PC.

ReplyDeleteYou have to tell me where exactly is this spot (I know, I am annoying). I visited Pacific Grove earlier this year but didn't stop by the specific beach / spot you photograph in here. I went to the Lover's Point Park, Asilomar, the lighthouse and Downtown. The town is so lovely. Will love to go back.
