Moss Beach: Fitzgerald Marine Reserve

It has been such a wet winter that carried through the early spring. Weekends we've been cooped up home and so when the forecast called for sun on a weekend, we thought it's high time we get to revisit Fitzgerald Marine Reserve to do a little tide pooling. It has been years since the last time we went (blogged about it here).

Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is located in Moss Beach, a coastal town south of San Francisco. Best way to visit is to check the website for the low tide schedules to maximize one's visit.

The drive is beautiful. We stopped to take photos of the coast near Pacifica.

Thankfully the place was not packed when we got there, although there were many people there already. In fact we had to drive around the neighborhood to get a street parking a block away. We had the most pleasant weather, just perfect for tide pooling.

  1. You know if more people went tide pooling, everybody would be better off. Your last several photographs are magical.

  2. Oh those tide pool photos are to die for Maria! Iā€™m so envious. We used to love to do that (on the Oregon Coast) and I remember checking the tide tables for the best weekend ... maybe we can do that this summer! Of course, now it wouldnā€™t have to be a weekend! Itā€™s good to be retired.
