Egypt: A Recap
This would be my second trip to Egypt. Ten years ago, I was lucky to go on a cruise that docked in Alexandria, Egypt. That short 2-day visit whetted my appetite for this great country, and despite the nearly 10-year wait, I finally got to return in 2018.
Everything about the trip I can considered highlights, so I can't say I'll share highlights of my trip. I'll simply share some of my favorite shots from this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The Pyramids at Giza a must-see for sure.

The step pyramid of Djoser is one of the most important archeological site in all of Egypt. This is the oldest pyramid ever built (perhaps until they dig something older, you know) in Egypt. This is like the prototype to building a pyramid and from this design many years later they were able to build the Great Pyramids at Giza.

The giant sculpture of King Rameses II which is displayed lying on its back because the legs are broken off the rest of the body.

The Temple at Philae has high WOW factor.

The colorful Nubian village.

Nile River sunset.

The ruins along the Nile.

The survival of the hieroglyphs through the years is amazing, truly mind-boggling.

The Kom Ombo Temple is one of my favorites among the temples we visited.

The Temple at Edfu is one of the well-preserved temples we've visited.

The tombs walls at the Valley of the Kings are beyond words.

One of my favorite spots in all of Egypt is the Great Hypostyle Hall at Karnak Temple.

The beautifully lit columns of Luxor Temple.

The Egyptian Museum is soon moving to its new location in Giza, so it's easier to hit the museum, the pyramids and the Sphinx in one swoop.

Group picture.
Thank you Egypt.
