I can't stay away from blogging for too long. And while my self imposed ban on blogging is not over, I thought I'd pop in here and post something.
I am thankful for all the appreciative comments on my Floral Parade series. I am in between series right now and will post random snaps.
BTW, all my to-do items on my list have been checked off except that Twilight moment. I think I may have to wait a while till all the tweens are tired of watching it for the nth time. I want to see a movie when the theatre is less crowded.
But I went to see Bonds and seriously, I have just gotten used to Brosnan (Roger Moore is my ultimate Bond) so I have not really embraced Craig yet. And the movie was not all that, IMHO.
Hoped you had a wonderful holidays.
Amateur photog's online photo cache. All photos are original pics taken by author and her husband. This is not a place to see those awe inspiring Ansel Adams, these are ordinary subjects shot on a whim most of the time.

Heart of the Matter
Can you guess what this is?
I'm taking a short blog break and here's why:
*there is scrubbing, mopping, sweeping, dusting, swiffering to be done
*the "good china" needs to breathe some autumn air before the turkey lands on it
*there is last-minute checking of ingredients and running to the store for those left out from the grocery list
*the beddings need replacing and with thicker material to accommodate the dipping nocturnal temps
*there is of course peeling, paring, chopping, slicing, dicing, sauteing, baking, and cooking to be done
*there is chatting with friends and family over some good food and fabulous wine
*when the day of thanks is over, i celebrate my hubs personal day with a day trip [had to forego an over-niter] somewhere closer and with a little coastline to walk the turkey off, not very difficult to find here
*and I'm hoping to see James Bond and experience some Twilight moments.
So I shall see you all after the Thanksgiving Holidays. Hope you have a quiet and wonderful time with your family/ies.

Zygo Cactus
A blogger featured this flower and called it thanksgiving cactus, probably because this cactus blooms once a year about this time.
This cactus sits atop a file cabinet in my office near the window so it can get some afternoon sun. I can't believe its still alive after one year. I had witnessed it bloom twice now. So I must not have a brown thumb as I earlier suspected.

Sky Watch #21
It's Skywatch time again. Wanna join this wonderful meme? Or simply view more sky watch entries from all over the globe, click here.
For today's entry, I am posting a photo from my dear hubby's archives. This was taken in Point Isabel, one of our favorite walking parks. This is also a dog park. People come here to walk, walk their dogs, bike, run, or simply to wait by the bay for glorious sunsets.

Young Lady.......
Stop making faces and eat up all your veggies. :)
The flowers will keep on coming after I pause for two days to fulfill my obligations to SKY WATCH on Thursday and PHOTO HUNT on Friday. Unlike last week, I think a pause from floral parade is necessary to address these two photo memes.

I'm Running Out of Tears
This is one of my mom's rose plants too. The color is a red shade that I have never seen inother roses before. And I thought the camera did not capture the color well.

Photo Hunt #16: Ruin(ed)
I saw this plant/flowers in a local nursery. RUINED I thought they were by some genetic aberration, after all all these flowers are from the same plant.
Have you seen this plant? Know this flower? Is this an aberration? Or do they really grow like this with mixed blooms. It remains a mystery to me.

Sky Watch #20
This week's hunt for sky watch entry was quite difficult for me because I am currently running a FLORAL PARADE series thatI did not want to stop.
So last night (Wednesday here) I furiously browse through my many picture folders to scour for one that would be good for Skywatch.
And I stumbled upon this shot as I was watching Larry King interview Sarah Palin, I was doing double duty again. Anyway, I thought this shot had enough sky to clear the requirements for an entry, although the tulips is a frank give-away that it's a spring time snap. Then I remember some of our colleagues in the Skywatch group hail from land down under and isn't it still spring where they are?
So here's my entry for this week, my 20th, TULIPS UNDER THE SPRINGTIME SKY.
For more sky snaps from all over the world and/or to join this wonderful meme, visit Skywatch page. I forgot to extend my congratulations to Louise who joined the "board of directors" last week. I am really happy with that decision.

Photo Hunt #15: Together
I call them the THREE SISTERS, and they came TOGETHER to pose for me.
Here commences my FLORAL PARADE series. Here's the fine print, I will mostly post roses (and a few other flowers) that I have snapped in spring and summer of this year.
Enjoy the weekend.

Sky Watch #19
I can't believe that today is my 19th entry to Skywatch, seems like yesterday. I have enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow sky watchers and lovers every week. I marvel at the beautiful skies they feature week after week. And today, i can't wait to bloghop and enjoy all of their photos.
Come and join us at Skywatch. You'll be plenty pleased.
My entry for this week is another from the oldies. Here is a lonely but scenic road in BC near the Alaskan border. I want to go back and see this again.
