Part of the joys (or woes, ask the husband) of traveling is shopping for souvenirs. In the early days, t-shirts were the items we would seek out first. Then we realize that it would be easier to transport refrigerator magnets and so we moved from collecting/buying t-shirts to magnets. While we stopped buying t-shirts for us, we continued to buy them for family and friends. More than the act of buying itself, browsing to me is even more enjoyable. Looking at colorful knick-knacks give one something to smile about. I thought about writing a post about this today, because of a recent trip I took where my travel mates were onto souvenir shopping so much that we had to carve out time off our sightseeing allotment for shopping.
I went back into my travel photos and came up with these photos:
And edible souvenirs as well:
Personally, I don't shop as much as I used to anymore. I set a very strict budget on myself with souvenirs and so far I have not gone over my budget.
How about you all, what things in your travels that you must bring home? Or do you collect some souvenirs too?
