Clothing
Muslim women wear burqa (or burkha), an outer fabric worn over regular clothing to cloak their body, when going outside. Christian women when going out wear the traditional sari (or saree), which is mostly worn nowadays by older generation. The younger set wear mostly shalwar kameez, which is a set of loose trousers or what they refer to as pajamas and a long blouse with a high slit to accommodate movement. I have paired a kameez with my jeans and was surprised to see a couple of locals attired the same way.
interesting culture. great shot!
ReplyDeleteSpring is the best time to wear one of those. It looks so comfy.
ReplyDeleteYou went to Bangladesh?! Such exotic place!
ReplyDeleteI think the burqa is lovely. I like the different colors.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 of those that I bought from my Indian friend...the sari I think.Really cool outfit! Lovely street scene too. happy weekend°!
ReplyDeleteI am just glad I don't have to wear the burkha, and that I'm free to don whatever I want.
ReplyDeleteIf there's a will there's a way :) I like the colour they chose to spray paint the wall.
