Welcome To Malacca
Here are the pictures I took on a day trip to Malacca in Malaysia.
Malacca or Melaka in malay is known for its historical prominence and its cultural appeal. In the 16th century, Melaka enjoyed a reputation as the foremost maritime trading center in the region. So coveted was Melaka by the European powers that it was ruled successively by the Portuguese, Dutch, and English until the Federation of Malaysia was formed on 8/31/57. (Info from Malacca flier)
This is the entry to Malaysia in Johor Bahru, the city at the border of Malaysia and Singapore.

Dang! I should have gone there when a Malay friend asked me to join her. She gets a condo for a month smack in the middle of Kuala Lumpur every time she goes home for a visit. Next time I'll be ready.
