Photo Hunt #5: Beautiful
Fourth Ward School--now a community center. It was a school from its construction in 1876 to 1936.
This is my entry for this week's Photo Hunt. This is not my first choice for this week, but I thought I would go with something from the series Virginia City to keep the series moving.
I find old buildings, both preserved and restored, simply beautiful. This one specifically. It must have been a joy to come here to learn. How lucky those many children who learned under this magnificent building. It is an eye catcher without a doubt.
In addition, I find the presence of the bikers adding to the substance and overall beauty of this image. [I initially wanted to post this for SWF].
This is a really small school by todays standards. very nice!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is a beautiful building. I think that we need to post photos that fit what we feel is beautiful and you managed to keep your series going..and that is beautiful @:}
ReplyDeleteI also love old buildings that are rich in history. They are silent links to the past.
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful photos. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWow, some amazing buildings and architecture in this whole series!
ReplyDeleteA lot of beautiful details in this building!
ReplyDeleteThat is great! Glad they kept it restored. It is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great building. The mountains in the back and the bikes make it a wonderful shot.

ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely building. Old structures are interesting especially the history behind them.
ReplyDeletei really like places like this. it shows that there's enough space for beautiful views. i hope that it'll retain it's beauty.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot.. it looks as if it's sitting right on the edge and may just fall off. Yikes.
