Leaving Mammoth Lakes
While hubby drove, I photographed the landscape/scenery that we passed by. Can you see the horizontal lines? That's from the car back glass. This was when we got back to Hwy 395.
Leaving Mammoth Lakes was a little heavy on the heart. The little skiing resort town is very charming and can easily steal your heart.

The first thing I noted when we were driving off was the glorious clouds. No snow on the third day, but sunshine and oh fabulous cloudscape.
What a clear atmosphere in these pictures! Really wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI also like the last photo well transformed with the software.
A whole lot of beautiful scenery pictures. The first quick look had me thinking you were in europe somewhere!
ReplyDeleteYour photos make me feel the space, the freedom you have when you travel!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comments.

the clouds are spiritually uplifting. haha. =)
ReplyDeleteWow, I just love these photos. It's because I'm obsessed with road photos...thanks for sharing this beautiful catch.
ReplyDeleteOH man I can see how hard it was to leave that mountain! I'm not sure I could have.
ReplyDeleteNice rendering on the last image too. (Though if I could make one teeny suggestion, you might try cloning out the No Parking sign. Or using an alternate corp that doesn't include it. Or you can just tell me to STFU and ignore me. ;)
Mojo, I love suggestions. However, cloning is my least fave trick/button on the software. My husband always chastised me for being lazy when it comes to cleaning up/cloning my photos.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate the suggestion. Keep them coming okay.
Wow the scenery is so beautiful and they make a good screensaver in the computer. The clouds are so fluffy and looked like cotton wools.
ReplyDeleteCloning something like that out would be tricky, no doubt about it. And time consuming. You might be able to get rid of the sign another way. I'd have to be looking at the photo again to see if it'd be possible to just burn a shadow there which is one of my favorite tricks when what I'm trying to get rid of has a shadow behind it. Lots faster and usually harder to detect too. If I'm remembering the shot right, I'm thinking an alternate crop might work, but you'd lose a lot either off the bottom or the right hand side. If you can live with that, then you can just crop out the sign. But again, I'd have to be looking at it, which... I can't from the comment section.
ReplyDeleteBut you've started with a great image, and that's the most critical part. If you don't have something good to start with, no amount of post-processing will help.
The last picture looks like an old picture...well done!
ReplyDeleteIndeed... a great sky with those clouds.
I also see that they have good roads even if it seems quite remote!
I love the tour you gave us! That part of CA is beautiful this time of year, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say what a beautiful place. thanks for visiting Ranger's and my blog.
