Sky Watch #38
California (in this part of the state at least) welcomed Spring with the most pleasant weather. Today our highs in the bay range from 60 to 67 with sun and blue skies, which makes me long for a day off today.
I went out walking to Pt. Pinole Regional Shoreline last Saturday, March 28th, and this shot is from that walk.
Well folks it's SKYWATCH time of the week again. Go and visit the site for more glorious photos.
I just love the two colors I see here, blue and green. Beautiful sky.
ReplyDeleteI love this picture. I want to roll down the hill! Love the wispy cirrus clouds above, great composition on the photo.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely Spring sky!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Makes me think of Jimi Hendrix - 'Scuse me while I kiss the sky!!
ReplyDeletelovely capture...
ReplyDeleteand yes everyone there are places in california where you are the only one for miles :)
had to say that.
Love the beautiful sky and the GREEN grass. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat kind of weather makes a person feel reborn. Great photo and a perfect sky to compliment the field.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful shot. I really love the balance in green and blue with the textures of grass and sky.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful rolling landscape. The spring green and sky blue go so well together.
ReplyDeleteSimple yet beautiful, I absolutely love it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

I have to check out where Pt. Pinole is in California. Well, its quite a ways from where I am. I always love to see the greenery!
ReplyDeleteThe green is balm to my parched eyes. Great open and broad view.
ReplyDeleteSo simple, so elegant, so summer. Aaaaw!
ReplyDeleteThe sky was nice and blue, but THE GRASS WAS GREEN!!!
ReplyDeleteStunning view..makes me want to walk barefoot in the grass!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! love the green and the blue, the hill -- like Naturegirl, I want to walk barefoot in the grass! Suberb shot!
ReplyDeleteThis is the second photo this week that I've said looks like the default desktop background for Windows XP. It almost looks like an artist's rendering as much as a photograph.
ReplyDeleteLove your "Valley of Fire" Series too!
Ah, simple yet effective! love the contrast of colors...we had 18° today!!! Its getting better :)
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! First of all, I love California and the weather out there. I like your rolling grasses topped by the pretty blue sky...very nice!
ReplyDeleteSimple and beautiful, and so vast!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. We're lucky, here in CA.
ReplyDeleteNice and clean image, beautiful colors!
ReplyDeleteI too love the simpleness. For me it has a Little House on the Prairie feel.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that 100% Natural picture. It's so rare. I take a big breathe.
ReplyDeleteThat view is just so spring like; beautiful! The contrasting green and blue is refreshing. Here it seems to be still blue gray white, blue gray white...
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to run up that hill, then roll down again in the grass! Wonderful contrast of blue and green!
ReplyDeleteIt could be the UK. The meeting of sky and land with those contrasting colours is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! Makes me feel like jumping and playing here :-)
ReplyDeleteMy MIL always said blue and green should never be seen together.
ReplyDeleteIn truth she ment in fabrics.
I fail to see why as they are perfect together. Love the wispy cloud too.
This is a wonderful photo - happy and carefree!
ReplyDeleteHeaven and earth hold hands here, Maria!
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to grab a blanket and have a picnic... beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteMy Skywatch Friday: Sunrise Over Plum Island
The grass in nice and green there. Nice blue sky.
ReplyDeletePC: Certainly a beautiful place to travel on a Spring day.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, it's a beautiful day! We have rain and flooding but I feel better seeing your patch of sky. Happy SWF!
ReplyDeleteWow love the sight of the huge green field. When I was young, there was a small hill that looked like your photo and I would roll down the hill on the fields. Was so much fun but the hill had since shrunk due to increased in population and more houses need to be built. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove the complimentary yet contrasting colours
ReplyDeleteLooking like a great place, somehow I'm reminded of the show "Sound of Music"!!
ReplyDeletep/s: You meant March 28th I assume? :P
Isn't that the perfect spring scene! Green green grass & a blue sky! Don't get me wrong, flowers come mind when I think of spring, but it's the green & blue that top it off!
ReplyDeleteA simple pic of rolling fields and sky, but so pleasing to the eye.
ReplyDeleteI love scenes like this one. It screams "California"! And yes, it does remind me of my screen saver on my PC at work too, but yours is better! Soon I think our green hills will start turning brown...boo, hoo.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I think you mentioned that you had seen a mountain lion when you were in Sunol. It's funny because when I went hiking there last week, I was alone and I specifically asked the ranger if any mountain lions had been sighted. He gleefully exclaimed that there haven't been any in years. Makes you wonder how accurate their information is!!
Linnea---the sighting of mountain lion was a few years back, maybe 5 years ago on my first visit. No sighting on the second visit, which was last year.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful meadow!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous shot of greens & blue! It reminds me of a place in China during the height of spring time. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the visit!
A perfect green field.
ReplyDeleteLooks so inviting to take a nap on the hillside.
