Sky Watch #43 and Photo Hunt #40: Painted
Skywatching on painted ceiling. Killing two memes with one post, I thought I would not have the photo to accomplish that, but hah, I got one.
Here begins my WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS........GETS POSTED ON THIS BLOG series. It's not going to be a comprehensive series as I have done a Vegas series in the past (early 2008 I believe).
If you were with me in the early years of this blog while I was doing the Vegas series, you would remember that Vegas is not my kind of town. Then why return, you ask? I'll tell you why!
We found a deal that's too hard to pass up. In February, we got an email about a deal from usairwaysvacation dot com that was too good to ignore. This trip included four nights at Circus Circus (price varies depending on the hotel) and RT air fare from SFO for $280.00, that's for both my husband and I inclusive of all the taxes. Now tell me who can say no to that deal? And because we love our friends, we spread the word. Two of them came with us on this trip, the rest made the trip some other time, but still got the same deal. Enough of that.
Skywatch main page is here, go and visit for more wonderful skywatching.
Photo Hunt is being hosted by TNCHICK. Go visit and play with us.
Love it. I was mezmerized by those ceilings in Vegas. How fun to do a series of "What happens in Vegas"... you know it's supposed to stay there though... ;-)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I am at over 1200 posts... wow.
ReplyDeleteThat's just...unbelievable! Excellent photo for skywatch friday :D
ReplyDeleteThat is a great deal, especially since you had friends who wanted to go too. Sounds like fun even though I've sort of assumed Vegas wouldn't be my kind of town either. I love this shot. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteenjoyed the post and the VEGAS version of what appears to be Venice? but, i could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteenjoy.
A truly special shot. I've never been in Vegas so it was nice to have a look!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot at the Venetian.

ReplyDeleteGreat atmosphere in the picture, and a mysterious heaven:)
ReplyDeleteExcellent way to show two nemes. It is such a dazzling image.
ReplyDeleteIncredible ! wow !
ReplyDeleteVery cool! Nice job on getting both.
ReplyDeleteFabulous shot!
ReplyDeleteThe last one is not a HDR. I have used a filter in PS called Topaz Adjust.
Amazing effect on this photo. The clouds seem like a dome over the houses. Love the warm ligth in the archways and the clouds too.
ReplyDeleteGreat deal indeed and how nice that you love your friends and thus got good company for your trip.
I love paintings that look like the real thing! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI was taken in wondering how that sky was shaped.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Glad you enjoyed yourselves too.
That's amazing! That sky is heavenly - and the buildings works like a great frame! Really? Is it painted?
ReplyDeleteYou could have fooled me!
That is painted? How cool is that! Thanks for sharing this photo with us all in Sky Watch Friday. Really enjoyed your photographs from NYC as well.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot! And, yes, you could have fooled me too! Wow! Too cool! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteVery amusing effect! It must be weird to be inside this space.
ReplyDeleteLike painted indeed.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautifully composed photo!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Vegas in a while. It figures that when they're giving out the deals my cash is on major restrictions.
ReplyDelete:-( Great shot of that Venice Sky. Haven't been in that hotel in a while.
they sure did a great job! wow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot as always PhotoCache and I love the title. Really applies to that. Great sky and building too.
ReplyDeleteYou really got yourself a good deal, Maria...and look at this image, to boot!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all - what a deal! I can see how you couldn't pass that offer up. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a painted ceiling? It's awesome!!!
That is very cool. And so "Vegas" - even the skies are an illusion!! Love it!

Fascinating, it looks real. Very unusual and beautiful Skywatch post.
ReplyDeleteThat's is so beautiful. Soon we have the same thing in Singapore...lol. The intergrated resort that comes with a casino that will be completed in a couple of years I think.
ReplyDeleteAn amazing ceiling! I enjoyed this post.
ReplyDeleteI love ceilings like this! Beautiful to look at no matter what time of the day it is :)
ReplyDeleteNow I'm guessing this is the 'Venetian' themed hotel, having actually been to Venice and seeing the similarity? And yes what an awesome deal!
ReplyDeleteI would not pass the deal either. I have been there and the skies really looked real. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteDoes this count for sky watch?!
ReplyDeleteGreat one!
wow a great combo doing full justice to both!
ReplyDeletesuperb!
Very cool ... that sky looks so real !!
ReplyDeleteLovely photo..
In answer to your question ... the desert photos were taken near Hazen, which is about halfway between Fernley and Fallon.
WOW! It really looks like it's the real deal. Awesome painted sky! :)
ReplyDeleteNow I'm confused by this. Is it really painted? If so, why? It looks too real, I'd like to see if from another angle.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo as always! Perfect perspective.
ReplyDeletewow hitting two memes with one photo. Great shot! I love the way the clouds were formed. :)

Hey Photo Cache...I knew where this was taken immediately! Oh my gosh, what a fun place. And hey, that's a lovely sky you've captured... ;o)
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome photo! There was a story on the news last night about all the great deals to go to Vegas right now. I've never been but am thinking about going. I bet its great fun with a camera!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
It´s so real in a Vegas way. Even the real sky must be artificial there. Swanky place.
ReplyDeleteThat's superb. I love it! Happy weekend
ReplyDeleteSo that's the reason why people say you won't know the day and night in Vegas.. artificially painted sky?? haha :P

ReplyDeletebeautiful, lovely, fantastic! I love this picture, indeed the ceiling looks great and so natural!
