Sky Watch #48
(My New York Minutes 3)
If there was one thing that I was consciously aiming for this NY trip was snapping as much skywatch entries as possible. I honestly did not think we would have time to go to Manhattan due to our tight schedule and short stay, so the minute the taxi when into motion, so did my shutter. Here's one of those drive by shots where I watched the blue skies through the still bare limbs. I saw the birds after I uploaded the images on my PC.

Looks like some gorgeous skies for sightseeing.
ReplyDeleteSuch tranquility, and love the thinness of the limbs.

Great perspective!
ReplyDeleteManhattan - I wouldn't have imagined this one green. :)
My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
Lovely! the trees look like lace.
ReplyDeleteYou have done well to capture this from a moving vehicle. The sky and cloud through the branches is soft and muted.
ReplyDeleteLovely.
Nice shot and I'm with you on the drive-by's. Sometimes it's your only chance to get pictures and then you're pleasantly surprised! Good job!
ReplyDeleteThat's a drive by shot! Really Sharp shooting.Adds to the adrenalin sometimes the mystery of what you may have snapped. I've a tribute tonight to a NY blogger who has just closed his blog.
ReplyDeleteGreat drive by shot and what a nice bonus to get the birds in it.
ReplyDeleteGreat whith the trees!

Isn't it fun to find something unexpected after taking a photo. I really like the delicate, budding tree limbs against the light blue sky.
ReplyDeleteNice shot...I like the uphill view...hard to believe it's a drive by shot...so clear...
ReplyDeleteWe see so much of Manhattan on the news that it is interesting to see another side of New York.
ReplyDeleteVery nice Picture;)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend;)
Fun photo that looks pretty good for a drive by, nice to spy glimpses of blue skies in between a busy day. Thanks for sharing with sky watch friday.

Like the thin hair of lolas :) Love this one.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty shot! I love the trees and sky but the row of houses is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe birds are a nice touch-- I love getting a 'surprise' when I load the photos into the computer, and I see something there that I didn't see through the camera. So I smiled to read your comment there.
A picture that makes you happy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, complete with birds and all.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great drive by shot! What a lot of trees there are there. It must be so nice and shady in the summertime when they're all full of leaves. Looks like you made the most of your New York Minutes!
ReplyDeleteIt's an impressive shot, it's not how one would frame it when standing there, no it's much better, fresh, original.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great photo...Great angle. It makes me homesick :) Have a terrific weekend!
ReplyDeleteLovely combo of tree shapes there. Happy weekend to you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky shot. Love those blue skies.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful big trees. I guess the birds were just watching you and your camera drive by...
ReplyDeleteThe bare branches have their own beauty.
ReplyDeletePC: Neat shot of the sky with the birds in the tree.
ReplyDeleteI like this shot with the row of houses peeking over the hillside.
ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed your New York series!

ReplyDeleteIt's really beautiful to see the white and blue sky shine through the trees. You're demonstrating that drive by pictures can be very nice.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
A fine drive-by shot with excellent sharpness and detail. I like the happy accidental recording of the birds in the tree. Fine shot.
ReplyDeleteBut the trees are bear? When did you take this one? :)
ReplyDeleteNice shot. I noticed the birds almost right away but if I'd taken this I don't think I would have noticed them until I got home too.
ReplyDeleteGood work rapid shooter.
ReplyDeleteYou were lucky to catch it nicely sharp and without blur. Thanks for visiting me as well! Canarybird.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteI love drive-by shots - there's always something unexpected in them.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised the trees are still so bare.
