Photo Hunt #48: Entertainment
Our family gets together at least once a year for a whole day of eating and talking and having fun. While we live close to each other, we never really get to see much of each other, so when Christmas or Thanksgiving comes, we have lunch/dinner together.
Our regular program for this whole day of fun begins with a little chatting, then eating, more chatting, then my niece would host different parlor games, and eating and eating and eating. One time after eating and before the parlor games, these boys - apparently bored of listening to the adults chattering about nothing - started to provide entertainment to the gabbing aunts and uncles, grandpas and grandmas. They went on to sing and dance and we had no clue what they were singing until one of their uncles who babysit them regularly said, they were singing some Usher song. Needless to say, I was there to capture the moment.
Personally my type of entertainment when I'm not in my couch potato state is to go visit a park (regional, state, national) and commune with nature. The lady pictured is not me. However, I was really jealous that she got a prime spot to enjoy Yosemite Valley. This is my entertainment, being with nature. Also, I find that I can communicate with God better in nature than I can inside a church.

I agree. I'd rate both family togetherness and being outdoors as good entertainment.
ReplyDeleteThe kids are too cute! The videoke session is among the main source of entertainment for our relatives whenever we intentionally (or not) get together. The last time we were singing Spice Girls' tunes. =)
ReplyDeleteI love being in nature too.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots both of them, and great take on theme.
Ah they certainly look like they are having a lot of fun! There is nothing like peace, quiet and one's own company too. Happy weekend
ReplyDeletethe beauty of nature in the second pic is awesome
ReplyDeleteI loved Thanksgiving when I lived in the US. I also love Yosemite. Been there a few times.
ReplyDeleteLovely post. Kids are so entertaining, especially when they get going with their singing and dancing.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend
lovely photos as always and lovely kids :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shots and accompanying comments for them. And yes, I love to commune with nature too and understand your feelings about how the divine can seem to be more evident in nature than inside a church.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have a gathering with family members and catch up the latest news. My siblings and myself and our families love gatherings together. Recently, we are trying a new sport, kite flying...lol. Now sisters are all scrambling to look for the prettiest kites. Surprised my lazy hubby is agreeable to kite flying.
ReplyDeleteSecond shot is my fav :D Must be beautiful view out there
ReplyDeleteMy entry this week : in HERE. I hope you have time to visit. Thanks
singing and dancing at the same time is a tough job!:P i'm sure these boys entertained the whole family.
ReplyDeletelove the 2nd photo...while i enjoy the noisy kind of entertainment, being one with nature definitely is the best form of entertainment.
P.S. your former classmate says "hello". i hope you could scan your pictures from the yearbook and email it to me.:P
great shots and i agree with u nothing beats getting in touch with Nature.
ReplyDeletehahaha... true. kids can really entertain.
ReplyDeletebut yes a park view is definitely great!
I love the outdoors and being with Nature too. Wish we have such a beautiful view in Singapore.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful shot of the kids entertaining everyone.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great way to get together as a family.
God created nature while the church was built by man.
how cute! Love the last photo though.. straight to my eyes and heart!
ReplyDeleteThe shirtless kid is so into it. How cute.
ReplyDeleteI love communing with nature myself.
kawaii kids! two different interpretations of entertainment that i do appreciate.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images! Lovely kids, and I like the mountain picture as well.
ReplyDeleteYour words are so true!
Family gatherings with lots of children around is good entertainment for both adults and kids themselves :)
ReplyDeleteKids being kids, they do know what's the best form of entertainment for them. But like you, I would prefer entertaining myself in the natural beauty of the outdoors. Nothing like the birds singing, the leaves rustling, the winds whispering....
ReplyDeleteNice :)
ReplyDeleteI totally understand and agree with your sentiments about Nature, Marie. Nature is God's Cathedral!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of your family, and the one in Yosemite (my spiritual home too!)
ReplyDeleteI am of the same opinion, Marie. Nature is absolutely my church too!
Great entertainment - both ways :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post for the entertainment theme. Ironically, I was at a family reunion in the NC mountains on the photohunt day and took lots of shots that would have worked both in terms of a party and also from walks in the mountain but I had auto posted. I'm just catching up between a long weekend out of town and coming home to computer problems. I always enjoy your posts so much. Glad I finally got around to look at your beautiful shots.
