SkyWatch #53
Our neighbors up north (Seattle and Portland) have been experiencing HOT weather in the upper 90s and 106 for Portland yesterday according to the news, our little bay area region is around 10 degrees below normal temps, cool and breezy.
This picture was taken on Memorial Day of 2009, but I thought it was a good example of what I see on my commute to and from work every day.
Would you like to hazard a guess as to what span is featured in the background covered in our famous fog?
SKYWATCH is a weekly gathering of sky lovers and sky watchers all over the globe. Please join us.
The heat went up north. Our temp here has gone down from 100 deg. to the high 80's.
ReplyDeleteWas that the Golden Gate Bridge?
Hmmm...that looks like the Golden Gate Bridge right there. Am I correct? That's a superb silvery shot of the water!
ReplyDeleteWow you are early for skywatch...lol. It is a beautiful scenery despite the foggy weather. Was there a bridge behind the fog?
ReplyDeleteThe fog has its own attractiveness!
ReplyDeleteGreat silvery composition if ever i saw one.
ReplyDeleteThe fogged in bridge makes a fine background for the sailboats. The choppy water gives the impression of considerable wind. Fine shot.
ReplyDeletei don't mind the fog, it's a beautiful backdrop for the boats and the silvery sea.
ReplyDeletei'm glad it's hot in Seattle, will be there next week. so i don't need to bring a jacket?:P
Is it the Golden Gate?! Very cool. Definitely foggy there. What an amazing commute!
ReplyDeleteI love this shots. So romantic with the sparkling water, fog, and sailboats. Like others I'm guessing the golden gate bridge. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot!!
ReplyDeleteThe aprkling water is gorgeous and I'm guessing The Golden Gate bridge too.
Have a great friday!
Anna
I love this silvery image!
ReplyDeleteThe water just glistens with the sun. Lovely shot!
The silver shimmering light is amazing.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture, the sun reflecting on the water, the boats at the horizon, and a foggy(?) sky.
ReplyDeleteEven shrouded in fog the Golden Gate Bride is wonderful. I love the shimmer you have captured on the water.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this! The sparkling sun on the water and the sailboats...they are so tiny in the grand scheme of things. Beautiful color, too!
ReplyDeleteLovely shot though, I like the contrast of the sun on the sea-with the sea fog over the bridge. Thanks for sharing:)
ReplyDeleteI have been there, seen the fog (even bought a T-shirt) - and lost a whole roll of film exposed on a day the fog wasn't there and the span was visible in all its beauty :-(
ReplyDeleteIt's like a pot of boiling silver. Glittering and sparkling - wonderful and unique
ReplyDeleteLooks cool enough to chill those in the Northwest. We went there to be cool and found it cooler here in Sacramento, go figure.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful light over the bay. Lovely commute to work!
ReplyDeleteJanice.

I like the contrast of the choppy water with the smooth fog. The sails kind of look like glass, very pretty image.
ReplyDeleteThe fog makes the water appear silvery here. Nice photo!
ReplyDeleteSilver splendour
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful. Tone on tone on tone of silver and gray. With the barely perceptible bridge span in the back. Great!
ReplyDeleteYou get a great view on your commute to work..fog or not...
ReplyDeleteI've no idea what bridge lies beyond...
Great view for a commute even with the fog, you did manage to capture a lot of the play of light across the water. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fabulous shot of the sail boats with the foggy back drop hiding what appears to be, yes I'm sure is, the world renowned 'Golden Gate Bridge'. It does like to hide in the infamous San Fran. fog...
ReplyDeleteGreat photo...I love the sparkling water...I would love to have this commute...
ReplyDeleteHow the sailboats look minute floating on the silver sea riding about the fog and the shrouded bridge. A captivating photo of your place.
ReplyDeleteSailing on a silver sea. It looks so nice!
ReplyDeletePC: The Golden Gate in a foggy sky, love all the sailboats underway.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely snap. The water looks silvery because of the beautiful sky.
ReplyDeleteThe water look as though there are millions of diamonds sparkling at the same time :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful seascape, almost like a B&W picture.
ReplyDeleteLove the backlighting glitters and waves.
I love the silvery sparkles on the surface of the water. Great photo effect here.
ReplyDelete(Newlyweds had only one day honeymoon due to the workload of the groom. However, there is a big holiday coming for them to make up for that.)
