The Last of the Izmir Posts
The time to get on board was nearing. With some reluctance we worked our way to the boat, opting to walk alongside the waterfront where we spotted some anglers.
And what seemed like wonderful vacation setting. This neighborhood is the Alsancak area. I can only guess the cost of living here.
Upon boarding, a pair of adult beverages awaited us. We needed refreshments and some more sustenance.
Husband couldn't say no to Indian food.
And some burgers and the works.
And moi? I was good, mushrooms, bell pepper, and tomatoes with a half sandwich and of course chilled pear soup. I am a sucker for chilled soup.
And before retiring for the day to our cabin [that is until dinner comes calling] we walked around the deck and see how busy this port was.
With this post, I shall end this Izmir/Ephesus series. On to the next port of call.
Happy Fourth of July to those who are celebrating this holiday.
I'm back now - sunburned and heavier in the stomach and much lighter in the pockets - but happy to be back home again. Surely nothing warmer than a gust of cold San Francisco breeze in the summer time when you arrive from a flight from a tropical beach vacation to tell you how sweet it is to be back home to fog and no humidity.

ReplyDeleteWe've just returned from hot-hot France to hot-hot Holland, Maria, and I'm still not used to no A/C! Ugh. But I WILL get used to it, I'm sure. The fans are going full strength, which helps. I have really loved this series and am serious about wanting to visit there some day. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised! You sure have whetted my appetite.
