Another Round of Windows
I remember in the early days of this blog, my posts were heavy on windows. It was because as early as 2006 I had started to collect windows. I would go to San Francisco or wherever I find myself going and would furiously snap at windows ..... and some doors.
I thought I was weird "collecting" images, until I read a very inspirational post by Ginnie - blogger nonpareil - about things we collect (read entire post here). Of course windows are not the only ones I collect. I also find myself fascinated by street lamps, although I am pretty new to this subject and so my collection isn't worth a post yet.
But Malta (and the other four port of calls as well) were full of fascinating architecture that I think I had OD'ed on windows. And I have every intention of showing them to you as in-between post between series. If you are not a fan of windows/doors, worry not I will alert you so you can avoid this blog like a plague when the window post is on.
What about you fellow bloggers, what do you collect digitally? I really want to hear your answers. What people collect fascinates me.
This is my entry for this week's WINDOW VIEWS AND DOORS TOO, hosted by Teach Mary.

Oh yeah...I like to collect windows and doors of course, but also signs, leaves, benches, potted plants...I'd like to start collecting house numbers and door handles, but they're all pretty boring around here in San Ramon! These are all striking windows you've shared here. We photo nuts need to be living in Europe, huh!
ReplyDeletei choose the fourth one among the different types. very interesting as we also get to see some of these windows on some ancestral houses.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your windows (and doors). I collect waterfalls.
ReplyDeleteI love windows, too and wish there were more interesting ones around where I live. Europe is the place to be for the best doors, I think. But I envy you being so close to SF and all those elegant Victorians.
ReplyDeleteI started my blog to showcase architectural details. I also collect signs (especially older ones) and brick. I haven't found a meme for the bricks, yet!
Nice collection of windows from Malta here.
ReplyDeleteWish I could say I have an image collection, but I don't. I do have a fascination with interior light fixtures though, and I always take photos of them whenever possible and post them on my blog. But no special folder just for them.
That is a nice set of windows... I understand why you wanted to collect them.
ReplyDeletedigitally, it has to be beaches but i do like sunset/sunrise shots too. :)
ReplyDeleteI really like your windows collection Maria.
ReplyDeleteoh wow, i am also fascinated with windows, and stairs.:p i love your photos! i should join this meme!
ReplyDeleteWhat I collect digitally? Hmmmmmm..nothing specific. I do take a lot of pics of beaches and shorelines now that I think about it.
ReplyDeletehmmm somehow i started to like windows because of your post. I'll try to do that too i think i have some but did not mind it.
ReplyDeletefor digital collection... i guess i have butterflies :)
beautiful balconies, stunning windows from old to new. ^0^
ReplyDeletei have a thing for windows too, but sadly, not as well collected as yours. ^-^
and the likes?! oh plenty!
i do love bikes, have a thing for them,i don't know why, ^0^
whether cheap, dilapidated, old or cool ones.
but i don't post them often, i think most people think it's boring. ^0^
and sunsets, that's because i live near the bay area. ^-^
I love those little balconies, but the three pots on the wall in the first picture made me smile - they look so whimsical!
ReplyDeleteAs for collecting... I take an awful lot of sky photos! But I also like to collect street lamps (I am so glad to know I am not alone in this fascination!)
While I do maintain a photo cache myself (allow me to borrow your name), I don't really have a thematic collection like yours. Must be some work to sort them all out!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous collection of Windows and doors, Photo Cache.
ReplyDeleteLove your presentation Maria. Hope your well :)
ReplyDeleteI too collect windows and doors!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots...
i love windows and doors too, esp colorful and old ones.
ReplyDeleteand i love flowers, landscapes, sunsets/sunrise, street paintings and kids and old people.
I like this collection of photos, as I am very interested in windows and balconies myself. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come visit again tomorrow!
I also like windows and doors, they are often interesting. Wonderful sequence, Maria!
