While Waiting
We waited for our companions on these steps - this is the entry to the cathedral tour. The exit would be at the facade. When things died down across the road we thought we'd stretch our legs and walk around a bit while Dave and Amanda were touring the cathedral.
We walked a bit about 2 blocks or so. It was November 24 when we docked in Valletta; hence all the Christmas lighting/decor you would see on my images.
And voila we reached Pjazza Regina.
Here's what's the website has to say about it: Situated on the main street of Malta's Capital City, this historic square is dominated by the statue of Queen Victoria and surrounded by the National Bibliotheca, the old Treasury of the Knights and the Grand Masters Palace.
That imposing facade is the library - National Bibliotheca - which we didn't visit.
And the reason why the library was ignored? Because we noted this storefront. They have the outdoor seating at the plaza.
We bought some pastries to munch while walking. I have vague recollection of what exactly we purchased. I know that they were very tasty. My attention was more into the gorgeous interiors. I looked up and saw this.
And this one too. And this was a cafe!!! I love Europe!
I am inspired to visit Malta. Lovely shot of the ceiling detail :)
