Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden 2
Entering the rhododendron garden.
We encountered a cool little gate and we pushed it open and we entered what seemed to be a new realm.
Past the gate the path made a beeline to the ocean passing through misty wooded area with ferns filling the ground under the trees.
We have reached the ocean's edge. Just to the left of little hut (restrooms)is another hut perched atop the cliff serving as a covered lookout point. It has large windows for viewing the ocean without getting much of the brunt of the cold wind.
I really enjoyed the wooded area of the garden, especially with the fog making the experience even more enchanting.
SKYWATCH is a weekly gathering of sky lovers and sky watchers. Join us.
First of all, the rhododendrons reminded me of all the azaleas we see in Atlanta in the same way--totally in bloom. Then when you went past the gate, I immediately felt like I was on a boardwalk through the bogs on Vancouver Island, near the water. It was such a woncerful memory, so thank you!
ReplyDeleteWow..it's like heaven on earth! So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful botanical park...I love that you go through a little gate into a "different realm"...perfectly planned. And of course if a garden has an ocean view that is above and beyond beauty! (Our favorite garden is Shore Acres on the Oregon Coast. It's magical too.)
