Road Trip To Vegas: Of Road Signs & Skywatch
Why am I telling you this and what does ICD codes have to do with my Vegas roadtrip? Well, I'll tell you. As one of my co-workers told me that she can tell (track) the story of a patient just by looking at the ICD codes that were used/applied throughout the treatment. This is how I see a road trip myself and in place of ICD codes I use road signs. Road signs tell the story of a road trip. And here's the story of my road trip to Vegas.
In past road trip we stopped for a meal here. The restaurant is funky, lots of Americana on display and for sale in addition to the restaurant itself.
Ain't a road trip grand? Kidding aside what is a road trip without the signs.
And sometime during the long drive I managed to take a single picture with a lovely cloudscape.

It makes a fascinating series of signs. That Zzyzx Road took the "cake" for me. Amazing that someone would come up with that. A very interesting post.
ReplyDeleteThat last photo looks like the little town west of Vegas...what's it called...Parumph?!!
ReplyDeleteWe always stay at the MGM when there. Enjoy.
I too am fascinated with signs. Adore the idea of Ghost Town Road and Zzyzx Road sounds so much like Sleepy Road. Great post.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky shot for SWF ~ and loved the signs and the analogy to medical codes ~ made creative sense to me and great photos for your road trip ~ thanks, ^_^

I simply love road trips. There is nothing better than packing some food, drinks and set off for a great adventure with your best friends! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much!
ReplyDeleteI've seen some of those signs driving between LA and Vegas. I remember Zzyzx road well!
ReplyDeleteWell, you are right. Signs do provide breadcrumbs to your road trip: If they are in the correct sequence. Some nice photos of the signs against the lovely surroundings and sky.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.

I never thought of the connection between ICD-9 codes and road signs! And the Zzyzx sign made me smile... took some field trips there during my college years. Wonderful spot with a great history.
ReplyDeleteLove that painted sky!
