Hiking Hetch Hetchy

Ever since I saw a picture of Hetch Hetchy Reservoir online I wanted to visit it. I didn't realize that it would actually take a few years for that to happen. Not that I haven't been around the neighborhood, so to speak, but more like there wasn't enough time. Hence, when this road trip was being planned, we dedicated a time for a photo walk.

Hetch Hetchy Reservoir supplies water to San Francisco.

The dam was not the only one that caught my attention and lens. There were plenty to occupy the photo enthusiast.

It was nearly noon and a week day, understandably there were only a few people around, which I preferred by the way.

We had to turn back once we reached the tunnel - we had to get closer to the waterfalls some other time - because again time was very limited. We were looking at the long drive back home hoping that we would arrive by 7 pm, so we had no choice but to end our short stay.

On the walk back, Mr. Congeniality, aka hubby of mine, chanced upon a camper turned fisherman for the day and the two chatted the whole way back to the car.

On the drive back, we stopped for a little bit more of picture taking. It's never enough. The views of Yosemite and the mountains never get old. You always want to see more and photograph again and again.

In the end we hopped in the car and prepared for a 4-hour long drive. But with views like these, I wouldn't get bored.

  3. Hello again Maria, i am reviving my blog after a long pause. I didn't realize i had been posting in Pure Oxygen Generators but not here. Then after my travels to Australia and NZ i am back again in this blogsite, hopefully there are still a few who will see my photos.

You've always been an esteemed blogger-photographer, and as always these shots entice me. I love those wide angle shots, and the waterfalls again reminding me of the wonderful travels and cruises i've just been through. Regards.
