Genoa: Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour
I've been to Europe twice and both times I went in autumn. The reasons why I chose autumn: first, it is easier to get time off work after summer; second, it's more affordable; third, the crowd has thinned out and last but not the least, the weather is more pleasant.
So pleasant was the weather that doing the HOHO bus tour is so enjoyable. This time around the fact that right infront of the Maritime Station there is a stop for the HOHO bus saved us a lot of time. To be very honest, I had made cursory search online for things to do. I was more intent on sightseeing and if there's a church I can go to, I'd love that very much. Otherwise, I was content on ogling the architecture.
As the bus woved through the city, we passed by piazzas (stopped on the main one, separate post) and parks. We skirted by the waterfront where we spotted the highly touted Aquarium, which did not tempt us one bit. No offense but having an annual pass at Monterey Bay Aquarium, one of the best aquariums in the world we were not keen on seeing any aquariums on this trip.
The architecture as expected is simply incredible. I know now I should have studied architecture in school, even as a minor. I graduated with a Psychology degree, and don't use it professional. Well.....
Fountain in front of the Maritime Station.

There are signs of hotel names and their ratings.
On the edge of Piazza della Vittoria is an ancient Roman triumphal arch.
Across the street from the arch.
Greenery in the city.
Piazza Caricamento
And some samples of architecture candy for me.
Brignole
Is this the Genoa office for 20th Century Fox?
Photographing McDonald's all over the world has been my thing on this trip.
Blue skies and a sunny day but ild temperature. Towards the end of the day, the temperature had dipped to "chilly" level.

I too am a great admirer of architecture, the older the better. But I don't think I'd be able to study it. Looks too complicated to me. :p
