Cat Show In San Jose
Has anybody here been to a cat show? You know I am a cat person right? My kitties maintain a blog, here. Because of their blog they became cyberpals with many other kitties who blog as well. One of these kitties is a show cat, a beautiful Somali kitty named Summer Samba and she blogs here. She goes on different shows and when the show was in the Bay Area I knew I had to go.
I went to meet Summer and her wonderful human. I watched a couple of judging that featured a lot of many cute kitties. How can they judge one breed from another - they are all very cute in their own special ways. We made two rounds in the room getting as much look as I could to the cats that attended the show. Amazing how these cats have a mild temperament, they don't get bothered by noise, crowds, strangers with strange smells.
My photography took a hit that day. Sure I took some photos, many turned out bad, I wasn't concentrating/focusing on my subject. Regardness, it was a happy and fulfilling experience.
The show was called Tails and No Tales Cat Show held at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds in San Jose, California on March 5-6, 2016.
And here are the shots I took of Summer Samba.
Summer is so much more beautiful in person!

ReplyDeleteI hope you'll come share your photos at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/03/spring-has-finally-sprung.html
The tiles are so impressive--They are actually imported from Turkey. I bet the cat show was fun to be a part of. We love cats, have a very vocal Siamese.

ReplyDeleteI've never been to a cat show. Simba and Nala are my cats, brother and sister, and both as different as night and day. Simba is slender and Nala is not. Simba is active and Nala is sedate. Not sure if they would do well at a cat show. You have some lovely photos and I enjoyed your post!
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful time and you are so lucky you got to meet Summer in person! BTW, I wish I could follow this blog but you don't have "follow by email" here or I am blind and didn't see it. catchatwithcarenandcody

ReplyDeleteHappy Week to you ~ ^_^
Oh Maria, you took some great photos. Years ago, there was a Cat Show in Eugene and they had a just-for-fun judging for pets (not show cats). One of our boys was working on a Cub Scout badge on animals and this was one of the things he could do for it. So we took our Siamese pet cat. Of course he was NOT well behaved... But we all survived and it was actually a lot of fun. I was sorry we didn't have more time to look at the real show cats and always thought I'd go to another show sometime, but I never have. Another addition to my bucket list ;))
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool! I have heard a lot about dog shows but not about cat shows. Animal shows in general are great places to be. Who wouldn't be happy surrounded by so many cute creatures? I didn't know you live in the San Francisco area. I thought you lived in Europe. Great to know!
ReplyDeleteOur mom got to meet Summer at BlogPaws last year. She said Summer really is prettier in person....and a real sweetie too.
ReplyDeleteFurry tales at the Cat Show...adorable kitties :)

I have never heard of a cat show. Less easy to control than a dog show, I think! :)
