Hot September Day
It is typical weather patttern around here. When September comes, so does the heat. We coast through the summer months with pleasant (sometimes cool) weather, but September always brings the heat. So if you are planning on coming to San Francisco specially (we are not too far from the city)choose to come in September where it's warm and pleasant.
Well, this weekend is hot. On Saturday while we opted to stay indoors and not go to the Eat Real Festival that happens every year in Oakland, we just couldn't stay indoors all day long. We were getting stir crazy just sitting on the couch binge watching Game of Thrones. So we said, we'd go to the nearby park where we used to walk a lot.
It's been a long time since the last time we came to walk here. We first walked by the water's edge and found that the shore is clean. Gone are the plastic bags and other trash lining the water's edge. The one time that we participated in Coastal Cleanup Program, this was the section of the coast we cleaned and boy at that time the shoreline was so bad I named it plastic bag cemetery.
Now though it is very clean, no other trash like old tires, or clothing, or food containers. The people volunteering for Coastal Cleanup has done a magnificent job.
It was low tide that time and so we were able to go farther into the bay (San Pablo).
Afterwards we crossed the narrow bridge and walked towards the other side and found very dry overgrown grasses lining walking paths. Crossing my fingers that no grass fire here soon, even though there's no hazard to people or houses.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful Pacific beach views Maria. Can you believe we haven't been to the Oregon Coast yet this season? We will remedy that soon.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good idea to walk close to the water. We haven't been in the house for the past three days. We do not have AC and it was unbearable. Yesterday, we were roasting at work (that is a first). Hoping it gets cooler tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHi! It's nice walking the clean beach. I enjoyed your photos very much.
