Oakland's Women's March in Photos

My husband literally dragged me to participate in Women's March. Not that I don't care about the issues, I was just afraid that my claustrophobia might attack in the middle of the march. All in all, it went smoothly and I had a little panic when I was caught in the middle of the crowd. It went away when I got to have a little breathing room on the sidewalk. In the end I was happy that my husband was tenacious in getting me to go.

All are phone photos. I wasn't keen on bringing a camera because I was afraid that rain might appear. There was drizzle, but that was all there was. The march was peaceful, the people were happy and smiling and laughing and chanting.

OUR WORLD TUESDAY

Comments

  1. Great shots. I wish I'd made it to Washington (not that far for me) or even to the one in Raleigh where I live. It's encouraging what a big turn out there was all over.

  3. Good for you and your hubby!!! Congratulations for doing it and thank you for the pictures. All these marches all over the world gave me some encouragement in this dark time for our country. If I had been in Eugene (Oregon) I would have marched. None here in Florida (the closest was a 100 mile round trip and I wasn't up for that).

  4. That was a big crowd, but we saw on TV most of them too. Your choices of the placards to take are remarkable, lovely as well. Your president and ours have a lot in common on the negative aspects of their person. I hope they don't make choices that will drastically end the world's status quo!

  5. I love the “Nope” sign. Very succinctly put! Brave of you to go considering the discomfort of being in large crowds. I went to the Vancouver Women’s March and it was awesome. There was a huge turnout. It was very upbeat and powerful.

  8. Very nice shots. Love your pics. I am guessing that you are a Bay Area person also. I have the last shot on my phone.

Let's see what happens, hopefully the progressives can take the Congress in two years.

  10. wow you were brave, I'm not good in large crowds. Amuses me though that the people who elected him are now protesting, kinda funny....
