2017: A Pictorial Review
2017 has been a challenging year, don't you agree? Despite all the natural disasters that befell mankind and all the man-made disasters (mass shootings, terror attacks), we managed to trudge through the year with an occasional smile on our faces.
These are a few moments of 2017 that brought a smile on my face.
Watched the sunset aboard a cruise ship in Long Beach.
Returned to Ensenada, the site of my first cruise over a decade ago.
Seen with my own eyes for the first time a stork, in Morocco.
The charming blue alleys of Oudaya Kasbah, in Rabat, Morocco.
Pleasantly surprised to see ruins of Volubilis, in Morocco.
The architecture and tile work in Fez was a joy to see.
I don't do bucket list, but I did, I just checked off one with this visit to the tanneries in Fez.
High Atlas Mountains
Sahara Desert
The Tichka Pass is one of the most scenic mountain passes I've seen.
The chaotic Jamaa al Fna market place in Marrakech.
The goats in argan tree.
The blue boats of Essaouira.
Casablanca, at second sight.
Beautiful waterfront in Lisbon.
The Pena Palace in Sintra.
Cabo da Roca, the most westernly point in Continnental Europe.
Cascais, Portugal.
The aftermath of the total solar eclipse in Northern California.
My second visit to Crater Lake National Park.
Second visit to Multnomah Falls.
First visit to White Rock, BC.
First visit to Seattle, WA.
Alpine Meadows in Squaw Valley.
It has been another memorable year. I traveled to Morocco for the first time, also a first joining a large tour group, that I enjoyed immensely. I didn't pass up the chance to return to Lisbon, which was a little hop and skip away from Morocco. Summer was the perfect time for a road trip. When kids went back to school, we took to the road and visited Oregon, Washington State and crossed the border to British Columbia. Fall took us to the mountains of Tahoe with a visit to Squaw Valley.
Another year of Skywatching is over. Cheers to more skywatching in 2018.

This is a wonderful year in review. You're travels were quite spectacular! Wishing you a very happy new year!
ReplyDeleteI'd say you had a helluva year!! I think you could savor the Morocco trip alone for a couple of years [as are we]. You have a good eye and thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteA wonderful selection. I only 'met' you partway through the year .... so glad you shared pictures from earlier in the year so that I got to see more of your talent! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Maria! Love the year-end review -- that is one of the big reasons why we photo-blog, to remember the things we smiled about. Love all your pictures, but the one that makes me laugh out loud in wonder is the goats in the tree!
ReplyDeleteMultnomah Falls looks breath taking... not that other places are not beautiful... they are also equally beautiful.
