Morocco: Essaouira For A Day, part 2


Once we were done visiting the medina, it was time to see the blue fishing boats. I have seen photos of the boats online so much that I had high expectations. The boats were there alright, but I was a bit disappointed. The scene was not as magical as I dreamed it would be. That was alright, I have seen so many magical scenes in this country already.

The next stop we made was at the beach, just a stone's throw away from the medina. Essaouira is popular spot for kite surfing and windsurfing.

When we got back to the van, we asked the driver to give us a brief look at the city outside of the medina and the beach area, so he willingly drove around town. Nothing interested us so we decided to return to Marrakech; it was getting late anyway and it was a long drive back.

    You could have fooled me, Maria, because those blue boats look very magical to me. In fact the entire visit to Morocco seems magical to me!

    Yes you are right... looking at some photos you create an image in mind, and sometimes that place does not turn out to be as magical as you would have imagined.

    Same with you in the case of blue boats.
