Ireland: Day 7 (Dublin - Walking Tour)
While we were sitting on the bench, we were also mulling over our next move. Consulting the HOHO map, Guinness is not too far away. It looks walkable distance on the map. We did walk over there. But it was so much farther than we expected (duh!) However, it was fun discovering residential neighborhoods that we passed on the way that we would not have seen had we waited for the Hop On Hop Off bus.
As we were walking, we stumbled upon the popular Temple Bar and took a few photos. We passed by Christ Church Cathedral and stopped for a look-see. They are offering tours of the cathedral and since we were pressed for time, we passed. We even just walked by St. Patrick's Cathedral. All these and more I hope to revisit given the chance to see this charming historic city.
It was a long walk and I have feared we were going the wrong way. I had some second thoughts about continuing the walk especially when it rained, but we kept on going. After what seemed like forever, we spotted Guinness.

ReplyDeleteThe good thing about cold climate is you can walk all over and not shed a single drop of sweat. My kind of weather! ;)
ReplyDeleteDublin looks like a great place for a walking tour. But why does it seem that places are always further away than we think after checking the map??
