A Day in Las Palmas (Gran Canaria), part 1
To make it easy, we decided to take the HOHO and sightsee. We planned on seeing the sights first before disembarking to one particular stop. Las Palmas is a large modern city. Very pretty too with parks and nice houses and lovely ocean views.
On this January day, it was very cold and the wind was strong. We just could not stand another minute on the bus, so we got off at stop #5, which is the old town or Vegueta quarter of Las Palmas (photos next post)
In the meantime, here are some of the photos we took upon arrival in Las Palmas and from the moving HOHO bus.
This beauty was docked next door.
Beautiful cold day.
Local buses are called guagua.
You are a rolling stone that will never gather moss, Maria. HA! I love it for you. I hope you don't have any trips that will be cancelled any time soon because of COVID-19. We're still holding our breath regarding our scheduled trip to Croatia at the end of April. (sigh)
ReplyDeleteLas Palmas looks like a lovely cruise stop! I’m curious what seasoned world travelers like you and your husband are thinking about future cruises in light of this epidemic. Would love to hear your thoughts and hope you blog about it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful trip. I hope all is well with you and yours.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the colourful murals and the boat, were you allowed to venture onto it?
ReplyDeleteReally a beautiful trip, great views!
ReplyDeleteNice collection of pictures.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sights.
Stay safe, M. :)
Wow amazing city views. Loved all photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and photogenic city, and amazing photographs!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place!
ReplyDelete...beautiful, I'm not sure that there is more to say!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. I will have to google Hoho bus. Canaria reminds me of Professor Slughorn.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauful island ! Personally I prefer Tenerife from all islands. We have been there several times.
ReplyDeleteThere are no people on my Cinquantenaire picture, because it was in the middle of the week and not a tourist period. Now we are completely locked in with this virus. And those who are on holidays there can't get out to Belgium. Spain is very strongly infected !
Hello, this looks like a beautiful place to visit. Your cruise sounds wonderful. Love the photos. Take care and stay well. Have a great day and week ahead.
ReplyDeleteDelightful captures!

These shots are GORGEOUS! I've been locked at home for 6 days now and I am so delighted to see this tour you gave us of Gran Canaria! Thank you so much! Please stay safe. My brother works in Hayward and works in Downtown SF and he said that BART starts to cut off some trips. Wish all of this problems will begone soon. Happy Friday!
