2021 In Photos

Well, you know how 2021 was not very different from 2020 despite all our collective hopes and prayers that it would be. While travel resumed, very few of us ventured far and only made necessary travels. We continued to masked up, washed our hands constantly and distanced socially.

Allow me show you how my year went with these random photos.

We were weekend warriors. Took every opportunity to take a drive on weekends either to grab food or simply get out of the house and get some fresh air. We stayed close to home, only drove to places we can make a quick return because our cats are waiting for us at home.

PXL_20210102_201819034 Napa. One of our favorite street to drive through - every season is special. This is obviously from winter.

PXL_20210117_200224991 Bodega Bay has been our go-to destination this year for the peace and quiet and spectacular water views.

PXL_20210207_191038340.PORTRAIT Half Moon Bay. This is February in California. Isn't it spectacular?

PXL_20210508_230358148 Sonoma Coast State Park. Magnificent views, but too windy and cold in May.

Sonoma. Another spot we found ourselves coming back again and again is Sonoma Plaza.

Domaine Carneros Winery.

PXL_20210508_204202074 Ledson Winery - my favorite winery - architecturally speaking - of all the wineries I have seen so far.

We liked going to the city on the weekends to grab dimsum or pastries or even pizza. Yes, we drive all the way to the city just to feel like we're traveling :)

We continued to plant veggies after a successful 2020. We had plenty of chard, kale, tomatoes and cabbage. Our cabbages are so pretty and yummy.

My mother was hospitalized for 2 weeks, then sent home as a hospice patient in my house for 3 weeks before finally passing into the after life - all that after reaching her 100th birthday first. Here my Emma played her nurse kitty role to the hilt the whole time my mother was home.

I remember so much anxiety surrounding the vaccine availability. My co-worker would not let me dilly-dally until I went online and schedule an appointment

Easter Service was the first time we had in-person outdoor service. The next one was Mother's Day, followed by St. Francis' Day. From then on, we had in-person indoor service, which may be in peril depending on how much surge in Covid is present again.

My friend started a new career during the pandemic. He was toying with the idea of manning a food truck (he can cook!), but he had a full time job. Then the pandemic hit and he's been working from home. I suppose the pandemic spurred the need for a change and so he came up with Viva Vegan - an all vegan burger truck. His wife is vegetarian, but his burgers are super good.

  9. Love all your photos and love the idea that you traveled to various places. California is a lot better than fighting covid than Oklahoma is. So many here are still yammering about all it is what they used to call the flu and it is an attempt by politicians to control us, and the vaccine will make you magnetic and blah blah blah.
