Asian Art Museum - Becoming A Tradition, part 2
In a museum like this, there's too many that will definitely catch your fancy. In my previous life as a blogger (hahaha), I would have taken gazillion photos trying to photograph each and everyone that I see. However, after 16 years of blogging (what????), I have learned to curb my enthusiasm when it comes to photography. I have to now since I'm using my phone majority of the time I would not want the constant notification from Google that my cloud is getting full and I need to purchase extra storage.
And so I carefully chose the following items.
>
The Persian pitchers were particularly interesting to me. Unfortunately though, I didn't read every single notecard for each pitcher to know how old these are.
The Chinese version was equally fascinating to me.
Other items that caught my attention:
I guess I still took more photos than necessary and I have more that I didn't share here. Oh well, what can you do?
I have cut my photographing a lot as well. So many photos that I never used but I still take lots. You captured some great stuff on your visit. I get overwhelmed trying to read all the cards so kudos to you for taking good photos of them.
ReplyDeleteThere are creative depictions of Buddha to fit every mood it seems, which is fascinating. These works are incredibly beautiful and full of historic meaning. What treasures and what an incredible job you did with the photography. They really are of National Geographic caliber. I so enjoyed seeing them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful art work -- it has to be so hard to choose which ones to photograph in the first place let alone which ones to use in your blogpost! I am still using my pocket point and shoot most of the time and I still take way too many pictures. The koi and lotus pond is my favorite I think. I like to take pictures of the explanatory signs in places like this and in parks and nature trails too. It is easier to take time to read them from home.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning collection! Isn't it amazing to imagine all of the things these ancient works of art have "seen"?
