Alberta, Canada Road Trip: Day 4 (Columbia Ice Field Adventure With Skywalk) part 2
The Ice Explorer bus dropped us off at the same spot where we took it earlier, then transfered to a bus that would take us to the skywalk. The Columbia Icefield Skywalk is a glass-bottomed bridge just north of the Athabasca Icefield and is a popular stop on the Icefield Parkway.
They offer free tour.
This part was a test of fortitude for me. This was a knee-shaking experience, but I bested my fear of heights - barely!
Then back to the Discovery Center to end this wonderful afternoon here in Banff.
These mountains are simply sublime.
Taken from the second floor balcony of the Discovery Center.
Off to Jasper we go.
So much snow. I'm looking forward to seeing some on the mountains this winter.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sights! The skywalk looks rather intimidating to me though - I'm not fond of heights!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at https://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2023/02/spring-is-here.html
I walked the Skywalk during our visit to the icefield. The Ice may have retreated somewhat since our visit over 10 years ago.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Maria -- taking that skywalk took courage. I'd probably do it too for the views, but I too would be shaking.
