Clear Lake State Park
This is a continuation from the previous post.
After the Calistoga stop, we thought we'd just keep driving and see where it leads us and minutes later we made a decision that we'll keep on driving up to Clear Lake. We'd done this drive before, but we didn't stay too long and just turned around and drove home. Not this time.
As expected the drive was glorious despite the mostly brown leaves. I love the open road, it clears my head and energizes me. Same goes true for the husband.
Not tempted to stop.
There she is, Clear Lake.
First time in Clear Lake State Park. So beautiful here. We took a few trails and vowed to come back here.
Picnic tables are my current "addiction".
On the drive out of the park, the light was just right for more photo ops.
According to Mr. Google, this is the closest we could have some wine tasting. But it was too busy that day, we were ignored. We were standing there for a full 10 or so minutes and no one had acknowledged our presence. So we left.
So we checked Mr. Google again and we found this one place in downtown Kelseyville called Fore Family Vineyards. The guy manning the place was amiable, not too chatty but very welcoming. We tried a flight and unfortunately none of the wines we sampled stood out for me.
Driving home.
