Iceland & Greenland Cruise (August) 2024: Day 5 - Sea Day
Sea days are relaxing times during a cruise. Even on a smaller ship like those that ply these waters and the fjords, there is plenty of things to do and occupy one's time. Since this is one of those few instances where the hubs and I cruise on our own without friends, we made relaxing the theme of the day. There was this magic and contortionist show, a husband and wife team, that we caught during the afternoon showing (we've caught all their shows) and they were good.
The contortionist is speaking to a fan, who also happens to be practicing the art of contortionism. Perhaps the kid is getting some pointers.
With a little help from her mother, the girl showed what she can do.
Aside from the magic show, there was a lot of music to be had. The string trio and the house band were our favorites and made sure that we caught their performances all over the ship.
The leader of the house band played sax and had a solo performance one sea day.
He asked for requests from the audience; however, my choice was something he did not know at all. If you are curious, I requested Soulful Strut (listen here). It's the music playing during the handshake scene in the movie Parent Trap starring a very young Lindsay Lohan.
While working on my journal, we were listening to the string trio.
I didn't have a closer image of them.
There were a lot of eating, or nibbling.
Belive it or not, I have not gained a pound after this cruise. Must be from all the walking around the ship we've done.
I enjoyed watching the passing scenery and took a few shots. After dinner, we went back out to the deck and was amazed at how close Greenland looked.
