July 5, 2006 -July 5, 2026 = 20 years!!!!!!
About a month or so ago on a rare idle time, I found myself going through this blog and reading previous posts. I found this (10-year anniversary post) by happenstance and it got me thinking that my 20th year is coming up so I better start brainstorming about how to "celebrate" it with a post. A post that summarizes or highlights the last 10 years from the last half of 2016 to the first half of 2026.
I don't remember when we actually started the community of Skywatch bloggers, but I thought that what best to highlight the skies of places I've been this past ten years.
Twiglight in Nassau, Bahamas (Nov 2016)
Afternoon camel ride in the Sahara, Morocco (April 2017)
January sky at the Cliffs of Moher Ireland (Jan 2018)
A somewhat blue sky in the Pyramids of Giza (Nov 2018)
Blue sky, Onyar River, Girona, Spain (Jan 2019)
First trip after pandemic, Cancun (Dec 2021). I can't remember how many times I've been to Cancun, but to me it's always a good choice.
One of the most breathtakingly endowed landscapes on Earth is Alberta, Canada (June 2022).
Sunset over the Sea of Galilee. Capernaum, Israel (Jan 2023)
Two of my favorite things to photograph -sunsets and cats. Dead Sea, Jordan (Jan 2023)
Sky over ruins of Library of Celsus. Ephesus, Turkiye (Sept 2023)
Hverir Geothermal Area, Iceland (Aug 2024)
Skywatching on the beach, Aruba (Jan 2025)
Twilight, street scene. Lucerne, Switzerland (Nov 2025)
I haven't gone out of the country this year yet. Hopefully soon.
Just writing this down fills my heart with gratitude for all the opportunities for travel that I have been given. Just for record keeping on my part, I had visited 32 countries (islands & territories) in the span of 10 years. And out of 32, 8 were revisits. Whew!
I will write a part 2 for the travels I have done domestically in the past 10 years.
I am deeply grateful for all your support every week with visits and comments. I don't know how many of my contemporaries are still active but I'm so enriched by reading all your posts and admiring your wonderful photographs. You have taken me to so many cybertours over the years. Here's to many more for all of us!
