Photo Hunt #13: Scary
There was a time in my life when dead trees/naked trees were simply scary, particularly when silhouetted by the moonlight. It could also be just a product of my over active imagination. I do blame all those horror movies though.
Before I thought they were scary; now I find them beautiful and full of character and personality.
That is such a beautiful photo! You're right, they are so often used to create an eerie atmosphere when really, they are quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
I love the silhouette but I can see it can be scary too! it's all relative...but your shot is wonderful. Happy hunting and happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteit's so... Sleepy Hollow =] watchout for the headless horseman! mwahahahahahahahaha =]
ReplyDeleteI find dead trees beautiful too. That is a lovely photo. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting how point of view changes. I also love the beauty of bare trees but they certainly play a part in many scary movies.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I know what you mean. Naked tree limbs can have a frightful effect. But photos like yours also show their simple yet powerful appeal.
ReplyDeleteThat´s true - I love them too.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot for the theme.
Happy weekend.
I totally agree with you.. They are very beautiful.. and at times can be scary... Great pick! :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo for sky watch friday and warming up for halloween.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us all in sky watch friday and your kind comments on my post earlier.
It's has such beautiful contrast & texture! I have an over active imagination due to horror movie exposure too...
ReplyDeleteI agree. The shapes stir the dark recess of our imagination. Great take on this week's theme
ReplyDeleteI still find them scary but only in the fog. Fog makes everything look kind of eerie. This is a really interesting tree!
ReplyDeleteYou MUST come over to see my scary tree! bwaaahaahaahaa
ReplyDeleteYou're a great photographer! Well done for this week! :)
ReplyDeleteOooh, that is spooky! We see a lot of burnt trees on our way to Yosemite, it makes me sad that so many trees have died (but probably the rangers set certain parts of the forest on fire, on purpose).

ReplyDeleteScary but beautiful tree.
ReplyDeleteHappy Photohunting!!!
Am with you there in seeing beauty in dead trees... but also some sadness at their passing.
ReplyDeletewhile some may see it as dying, i can see hope there. trees can regrow leaves there and bloom again
ReplyDeleteIf that is a person he just have a bones...Good choice. TC
ReplyDeleteThat's a great shot. I could imagine a scary image of that tree at night on a full moon.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy watching horror films but I have an active imagination too which leaves me more scared afterwards.
Yep, I find them scary, too. I think trees need leaves to make them look alive. Good shot!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comments. Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful photo. Since starting to take photos I now look at the world differently as in what would look interesting in a photo. Thank you for visiting my scary election post. ReplyDeleteYou are definitely not alone with those thoughts. I too relate leafless trees (plus lightning effect!) with those you see in horror flicks. Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about the character and personality. I love bare trees. This one IS a little scary, however! Perfect for the photo hunt!
