Photo Hunt #13: Scary

There was a time in my life when dead trees/naked trees were simply scary, particularly when silhouetted by the moonlight. It could also be just a product of my over active imagination. I do blame all those horror movies though.

Before I thought they were scary; now I find them beautiful and full of character and personality.

    That is such a beautiful photo! You're right, they are so often used to create an eerie atmosphere when really, they are quite lovely.

    It is interesting how point of view changes. I also love the beauty of bare trees but they certainly play a part in many scary movies.

    Ohhh, I know what you mean. Naked tree limbs can have a frightful effect. But photos like yours also show their simple yet powerful appeal.

    I still find them scary but only in the fog. Fog makes everything look kind of eerie. This is a really interesting tree!

    Oooh, that is spooky! We see a lot of burnt trees on our way to Yosemite, it makes me sad that so many trees have died (but probably the rangers set certain parts of the forest on fire, on purpose).

    That's a great shot. I could imagine a scary image of that tree at night on a full moon.

    I enjoy watching horror films but I have an active imagination too which leaves me more scared afterwards.

    I like to find "bare branches" too. They do make beautiful silhouettes. Fine image.

    This is a beautiful photo. Since starting to take photos I now look at the world differently as in what would look interesting in a photo. Thank you for visiting my scary election post.     Yes it is scary but I must say it is very beautiful! Thanks for sharing these trees to us. Especially here in the Philippines, That is very rare due to we don't have fall here But thank you so much!
